Ive got one of those sitting in front of me here.... Im wondering... who has used this for tire "foams" or something similar? It looks to be a real good material... It seems to have good damping and deformation properties... Its VERY soft and pliable, yet it still retains its structure very well. Its also quite heavy.. so it might be good for adding weight to wheels as well. Seems like it mike be a bit less "bouncy" compared to open and closed cell foams. It is expensive, which is why Im asking here before I cut mine up and buy a few more. Im sure everyone has seen this material before if you havent seen the wrist pad... Its used on bike seats, some "conforming grips", Boots, shoes and athletic-boot liners to name a few things. Its also similar to those gooey hands, and balls you can get that stretch REALLY far and stick to windows... Just in most applications they cover it with nylon or vinyl to prevent it becoming a gooey mess. You can also get it in different firmnesses, as ive seen it in many different forms in the past...

I do NOT know what it is called, so I cant source it in a "stock form" as of yet... Anyone have any thoughts?

(I should note; This isnt for competition level performance enhancment. This is for scale 1.9, I was thinking that the less springy nature of the material would lessen the "hops" you get when your wheels spin, which seems to be about 50% tire pogo-ing. It always looks silly to me... Like an excited teacup-dog. But sometimes you gotta slip your way up something.)

The hopping is scale... but it doesnt LOOOK scale, if you get my meaniing... as they hop too high, and too rapidly. Why I was thinking this might dampen it and give is slightly smaller hops at less frequency... but thats all just speculation... Not to mention im sure every scale RC "hops" differently due to suspension, weight, tires, wheelbase, and a gajillion other things.

In any case, I just posed this here seeing if anyone would say. "HAHAHAHAH. I tried that already... It isnt even worth the time youve already given to think about it"

I suppose now its time for me to figure a good way to cut this crap and report back eh? (Sticks to exacto knife blades very well... Maybey ill try some cooking oil or something)

Got it! It chops quite like fruit with a Fresh-stoned Henkels chopping knife, and trims real easy with good scissors... If i can find 2 more of the same wrist pad in a local store, I'll try it out this week.
