First I want to say this place ROCKS!!!!!!!! I have been considering getting in to R/C trucks for a while now. I have been lookin on Ebay at some to get started with, or should I say started back . The last truck i had was pretty much a stock blackfoot. And now I am looking to start building and experimenting again.
So far i am leaning more toward purching a Traxxas TMaxx. But, I came across a truck today that I had never heard of before and i was wanting to know if any of you guys have heard anything or know anything about them. The truck is on ebay right now, it is a Kysho Giga Crusher Twin Gas powered 4x4. Any information on this would be deeply appericated.
Once again AWESOME PLACE AND RIDES!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Giga Crusher just came out. If it is the duak engine one than I would buy it. RC Driver just had a review and they said it is all good EXECPT:
1. Not nimble enough for racing
2. Duel engines will be nearly impossible for the begginer to tune.
One thing you could do about the engine problem is take one out, than break in a tune that one, then swap them and do it again. Than once you have both the engines seperatly broken in and tuned than put them back in the truck.
Also Kyosho's website is here: www.kyosho.com or www.kyosho.jp.co
Hope that helps!

THANKS ALOT I will check the web site out . The one on ebay is at $585.00 U.S. seems like a pretty expensive one to start with compared to the Tmaxx at $385.00 . So guess I am still undisided for now. Thanks again!

Welcome!!
you will find many of the so called RTR nitro MT's are actually far too expensive for most people to begin with. what I can tell you is that engines are expensive, and the giga comes with 2....the performance will be amazing, but its really a little too ambitious for any newcomer to RC.
depends what you want from an MT tho. the T-maxx is a good solid truck to begin with, not too fast but highly upgradeable. I would also recommend the HPI savage, which is like an upgraded maxx for only a little more money(bigger engine, wider longer, more suspension travel etc), it is also more durable, which seems to be its major selling point - the T-maxx is weaker, and suffers more in crashes.
the savage also seems to be getting more aftermarket support, so items such as 3 speed transmission, dual engine kits(truckzilla twin), extended chassis etc are becoming available...
I would recommend electric trucks rather than gas/nitro especially for low speed/scale driving but it sounds like you have your heart set on a gas truck....
well whatever you decide there will be help and advice here....

Hey thanks guys! I am in a little town in northeast Arkansas Biggers is the name of it. It is about 11 miles northeast of Pocahontas. To answer you Tuffguy.
I actually have been looking into Emaxx trucks too plus checking out alot of custom electric trucks on different web pages, so right now I am still pretty much open on the truck thing. So any suggestions are very welcome.

well it depends what you want from a truck....if your anything like me you wont really be able to answer that and will end up buying a few different ones anyways....lol
generally electrics start off slower, many Tamiya kits(clod, jugg, TXT-1) barely break 10mph as stock. electrics can be made to go really really fast but ideally an E-maxx would be the best place to start as its pretty fast to start with and all the upgrades are there for making it handle high speeds well.
it depends how important speed is to you. most people here are into scale RC or rock crawling, both of which are slow, but very enjoyable. nitro's cant really crawl because they need to run at or above a certain RPM meaning it is difficult to crawl without either stalling or running too fast to be in control.
Nitro's are the best bang for your buck(excuse the pun) if you wanna go fast. Electrics can be made as fast, but the expense is generally greater(due to expensive brushless motors needed to give equivalent power to a nitro).
I would reason that for a beginner electrics are easier, as with an E-maxx for example, you charge 2 batts plug em in and go. with a T-maxx you have to charge an Rx batt, and a EZstart batt, tank up with fuel, and then begin the engine break in process, after which you can begin to tune the engine for regular running.
the T would be faster and run longer(well as long as you have fuel), but is much more involved for starting tuning and running.
if you do go electric an E-maxx is prolly the best out of the box(and easily best value for money). if you want a project truck where you build your own chassis or whatever then a Tamiya clodbuster/super clod would be good. if you want to go fast and have the realism of solid axles, then a Kyosho twin force or Tamiya TXT-1 would be best(TXT will need ball bearings, and better motors/speed control to go fast). for the sweetest custom rigs, the Tamiya Juggernaut 2 is ideal but will cost far more than a TXT(which is like a upgraded jugg2 for performance), it is also now discontinued, but can be found on ebay.
there is a greater choice in Nitro RC's, as the manufacturers are all jumping on the Nitro RTR bandwagon started by the T-maxx..... good choices would be the Traxxas T-maxx 2.5, HPI Savage, Kyosho Mad force, Tamiya TNX, and Losi LST.
one thing you will want to consider is do you want a kit, or an RTR? a kit will be easy to build, but will take a little time, but you will learn far more about its inner workings and construction which will be handy if you break anything as you will know how to fix it. an RTR will be quicker to get going, but you wont know so much about how it works, and beware as often things like brake/throttle settings and screw tightness need to be double checked before running(most RTR manuals dont mention this).
out of the models mentioned so far the E-maxx, T-maxx, savage, TNX, and LST are available as RTR's
the Clod, jugg, TXT, savage, twin force, and mad force are available as kits.
the savage SS is available as both kit and RTR hence why I put savage in both...
I'm not trying to push you in the direction of any particular RC, just trying to give you info on good choices, and differences between them.
hope that helps.

Spoon, that was a mouth full!!! :poke::kick:
Just one a side note, I myself am a relitive newb to Nitro, my first was a Kyosho Mad Force. It took some time to get it tuned and running right but overall my initial Nitro experience was a good one(still is) I agree with what Ultima posted about the Giga, I can't imagine trying to tune two motors on my first nitro......i'd have pulled my hair out! The E & T are good trucks. All people have opinions but overall they are decent trucks. My Mad Force has been excellent.
But as Spoon as stated, make your choice based on what you want to do with your R/C.......Bash, Show, Race, Scale/realism, etc.

If you do want to go electric than I would check out the Kyosho Twin Force, from what I have heard they are very bullet proof and handle as good as the maxx in most areas.

yes that was a mouthful But VERY informative. I will keep looking for now but hopefully in the very near future I will have one up and running . I am still undicided on which one to get. But it is looking more to the electric than nitro. There is always "someothertime" that I can get a nitro.
Thanks Again!!!! yall are awesome!

lol...yeah well we love pics....
*I know thats gonna sound weird given that all my old pics posted here are dead - but my old photo host just decided to shut down for no given reason.*
I know it was alot to type, but there are alot of inportant things to think about when buying an RC, especially if its your first, or first one for a while. I'm starting to think I should start a web page as a buyers guide to RC and type it up once in full, and then just link people to it......
I know I ended up with a dissappointing first RC - a Tamiya TL01 subaru imprezza. it looked great it was fast easy to build etc. BUT it was rubbish off road - often its poor centre ground clearence left it grounded on grass. I later got a Tamiya wild dagger and have never looked back. I know have many RC's but almost all are MT's or scale off roaders....nothing with less than 30mm of ground clearence except my first TL01....(well and the fighter buggy, but I put it on 2.2" Tamiya monster spikes to raise it up.... lol)
