So WNy got hit with the storm that came the entire way across the country. The snow started here where I live Thursday night about 9pm and ended last night about 8pm. In that 24 hr period we received just over two feet of snow. So I promised The Joker across the pond I'd get him some snow pics since he doesn't get to see real snow very often. So here ya go Joker!
There are few before shots just to give some reference, these were taken Wednesday afternoon.

it's amazing isn't it, they get all that snow and get on with it.

we get a light dusting and the country grinds to a halt, i always laugh when they say on the news that we have drifts of up to 6 inch's, it's a joke in this country, everyone just panics

Well glad you guys like the pics. I live in Texas for three years and that was one of the things I missed the most. Yes I do live in a beautiful place. I own an acre but all the land around me is owned by my Father in law so it's free roam for me.

Joker as far as camera's go I have a DXG-566V HD. It's not a cheap cam but not an expensive one either. It does vid and still shots. It takes really nice pics, especially when the lighting is good.

I'm sure in canada even our large amounts of snow seem like nothing to them

That much snow slows ya down a bit around here, but ti doesn't close to stopping ya. Friday afternoon the Mrs. picked me up from work in the middle of the storm and we went xmas shopping.:D

I love the snow, I'll throw up some more pics closer xmas after I make my way around the town all lit up at night.

Love the pic of the road under the snow-covered trees, almost like a tunnel! These remind me of why I'm movin' back to the mountains within 3 years or so. Joker, once I'm up there mebbe we can work out a trade: Some of my excess snow for some of your fog (Me love fog.) Chris

i don't mind snow as we have a bunch of it, right now though we are going through a cold snap so it doesn't snow much when it gets this cold. last wednesday i woke up it was -19 and it was -33 windchill. we were having high's of -6 for a couple days last week. right now it is -11. looks like it is gonna be that kind of winter again here really cold with not much snow. i would rather have temps in the teens to twenties all winter and lots of snow.

Cold sucks. I know that Minnesota gets severe winters, but that seems inordinately harsh…or at least early for that kind of severity.

Nice Rag, since Connery is pretty much a has been now, will he work cheap? I like higher temps with the snow myself. I hate when the temps sit below 0 and everything just freezes.

Ed,
I wanted to post these pics all weekend and I just got around to it tonight. They called it the Christmas miracle around here in 2004. Christmas eve, we had a hum-dinger of a cold front and it pushed the temps down into the mid-20s. That and what they called the pineapple express (moisture from the pacific coast of Mexico that moves in a north eastern direction across south Texas) we got snow. 8" in our back yard. The last time we had snow before that was in 1984 and we had 2". Here are some pics from 2004. It will be very hard to ever top this one.

Nice pics Harry, Bet the boy was loving that huh! I remember Christmas of 94 and 95 I stayed in Texas at Ft hood instead of coming home. Christmas lights just didn't have the same appeal to me with out the snow. Surprising anyone went anywhere that day down there.

It was great. The snow was on the ground for two full days in some parts and other areas close to five. Some kids made a snowman out in the practice field in the middle of town and the base was still there for almost a week.
