I finally modified my Pajero... what do ya think? Also it needs a repaint bad. Any color suggestions?

Now I had the TLT shocks just laying aroung so I used them. Is there a better choice for shocks? The TLT shocks are sticky and I can't preload them enough so the sag too much. Are ther stiffer TLT springs out there, or are new shocks a better way to go?

Looks good. I found stiffer springs that fit the tlt shocks perfect at my local home depot store.

I wouldn't repaint because if you do you will be too afraid to run it.

sweet....

I use TLT shocks too - I find em ok on the rear and too soft up front, I hadnt yet found any harder springs tho... if all else fails I'll have to ask nate to send me some...

I suggest a nice two tone for the lid like metallic red and silver(red up top), or blue and silver.... like this:

Out of curiosity, why was this Jero called a Metal top wide?

Thanks all... I love the stupid little Pajero.

And yeah, Why is it called Metaltop???? It's plastic? Maybe because it is so detailed it looks like the actual metal one?

I was told the full size pajero of that design had the name "metaltop wide" so they called the model after it and also to distinguish between it and the older Tamiya pajero....

'Cause they looked like this if it wasn't the metaltop version:

Looking at the specs for the two, you can see that the track front and rear as well as the bodies exterior were wider ont he wide version.

Here is the specs on the standard version:

Interior dimensions (LxWxH), mm 1685 x 1410 x 1180
Wheel base, mm 2420
Treads (F/R), mm 1420 / 1435
Ground clearance, mm 245
Curb vehicle weight, kg 1730
Gross vehicle weight, kg
Seating capacity, persons 4
Doors number 2
Min.turning radius, m 5.3
Fuel tank capacity, l 60

And the wide version:

Exterior dimensions (LxWxH), mm 4030 x 1785 x 1815
Interior dimensions (LxWxH), mm 1685 x 1410 x 1210
Wheel base, mm 2420
Treads (F/R), mm 1465 / 1480
Ground clearance, mm 225
Curb vehicle weight, kg 1720
Gross vehicle weight, kg
Seating capacity, persons 5

Keith is right on the metaltop part, but I'm 99% sure the 'wide' designation came to differentiate the Pajero that we are familiar with from the one that we aren't... Ladies and gentleman, the other Pajero (Mini)...

Well done on the suspension! If you want more height you can trim the front hub carrier and put the shock mounts on top! Zillon came up with this idea, I have 100mm and 90mm shock on my Pajero.

I think a Two tone colour on these trucks makes them look sharp!

I think the Wide comes from the wheel track and bigger tires than the standard one's, Toyota make the wide body Hilux_4 runner or surf This is 40mm wider than the standard hilux 4 runner's.

Heres a photo of my front shocks.
