View Full Version : 1.9 tire on a 2.2 rim

I've seen people here stretch out a 1.55 tire to fit a 1.9 rim so I'm guessing I could stretch a 1.9 to fit a 2.2 rim. Just wondering if anyone here has done this? I'm trying to come up with a wheel and tire combo for my Jeep build, there are a few wheels I really like but they are 2.2's and the tires I like size wise are 1.9's.

-you need a coke bottle, or a HD plastic funnel, then a lil' bit of soapy water, (a drop or 2), on the bottle, then use it to stretch the 1.9" onto the 2.2". The soap shouldn't cause the tire to spin on the rim, w/the tire being on so tightly. Be sure to use armor-all, etc on the tires, when the rubber is stretched, it'll dry-out much faster---I hope this works well for you:wave:
