Hey guys don't poke fun of toyranosaur & his micro Mog  , I've got some micro mogs too, the blue one isn't R/C but i've fitted 2 real small led's in the headlights :rolling:
Cheers

AHA! SEE, I'm not the only Mini-Mog guy- Cool mini's, Justin! Actually, I dig mini versions of all of the cars in my collection: Here's a pic of my Wild Willy II with the mini R/C one I made with the Tamiya 1/32 body & wheels/tyres and a modified Tyco Canned Heat car. This stuff is cool to display next to your 'Full-Sized' trucks. Also a shot of the basis for Project Mini Pumpkin, and they go on and on: After Micro-Bullhead, I know almost anything's possible if you want it bad enough.

hey cool mini's...

I did start converting my Mini jugg2 to RC using my rather boring Mini Z, but got a bit stumped when I realised the batteries got in the way of the steering lol....

great work tho, that mini WW2 is excellent! :chug:

Geez, Rikpal-I'm glad you live in another country! (Great smiley w/the gun!) I am pretty poor right now, and my projects reflect it-I have a lot more time than money, so I build things I wouldn't normally have the patience to do, I guess. I'm an old-school model car guy and 'Mini-Fabricator', and it serves me well in R/C! Fun Fun! Thanks guys, Chris

Serious your minis are great Toy. I'm playing with the idea of a mini from time but I can't find nothing to mod :)

Hey Rikpal! Here's an idea to make a cool mini: Get a Tyco "Canned Heat" car to start-Thay're available on Ebay for between $6-15. Then get a 1/24-scale model truck you like: All you'll use is the body, wheels & tyres. Then mod the chassis to fit the body, and fit the wheels-Bam! Mini's are mostly about the look, since there are no real chassis' that scale to mod that aren't kinda pricey to use. I just love to work on real small stuff for some reason. One of the projects I will do soon in machine shop is to shrink a set of Clod axles to about 1/4 their original size (Pretty easy: I just draw it in Mastercam & scale it down), and use those on a mini 4-link for Project Pumpkin-That's the plan, anyway. I'd like to do a 'Real' mini: Using a Tyco or Microsizer for a base is all I've done so far, and I've had a lot of fun! Try it, you'll enjoy it (If your definition of 'Enjoy" is hours of frustration fiddling with little crap!) Chris

Is this quoted from a dictionary?
;)

I'll try for sure but now I have some big projects to think about.
The small clods axles is a KILLER idea.
How can you do that?
Do you have access to a CNC?
Tell me more pleeeeeeeaaaaase :)

It's shame that those 1/32 tamiyas are not available here and Canned Heats are around 40 euros. Price is totally insane. Anyway I have two of them and those are really nice. I decided to buy CH 'cause I thought that Mini-Z's are way too expensive...but few months later I buyed Mini-Z also. As usually total cost will be much higher when you try to save some money and buy something cheaper. You can easily upgrade CH's performance just adding some extra voltage. Standard CH uses 2 x AA batteries but the controller board can take voltage of 4 batteries without burning. Tamiya has made really good motors for this purpose, almost every 4WD Racer type will work, except the hottest ones like Plasma Dash. You can find pretty good forums for Canned Heat builders on internet, I have seen even airplanes built using that control board. Actually I have one self-made rc tank which is also operated by that same board, there is 4 x AA's and two motors (one for each track) and control board can handle that. Of course the other motor is controlled by steering channel but it doesn't matter 'cause the voltage is same on both channels.

I would like to get one of those 1/32 Pajero MTW's and use tires and body for my Overland...has anyone of you finished that kind of a project?

Say Clodz, sounds like you're way into the Canned Heat cars too! I have several (Of course they're cheaper here,) and have modded a couple-But except for the Willy not as extensively as you! I'm not an R/C bigot: I like anything radio controlled! And Rikpal, yes I have access to CNC machines, mills and lathes (Woohoo!) Long story short, about 2 years ago I started my R/C company, Rogue Element Components: In 18 months I fired 4 machine shops, and the one I now use isn't big on new product development-That's why I'm still so small after 2 years. So, I thought, "Screw these guys, I'll get my degree & open my own shop, and do my own stuff on the side!" So now I'm about 1/3 of the way there, and have access to 4 Haas CNC mills, 3 Haas CNC lathes, a Bengal waterjet, and myriad Bridgeport mills & Hardinge lathes, a Coordinate Measuring Machine, and Mastercam CAD/CAM/Toolpathing software, and am about to learn Solidworks 3-D solid-modeling. Once I'm proficient at all this (A while off!) look out, as I have a list of R/C stuff as long as my arm waiting to be done! To do different scale stuff, I just draw & toolpath it as normal, then scale it up or down: So the little Clod axles I can do simply by taking my file and telling Mastercam to make the same thing, but at 20% normal size (I could also make 'em big enough for a quarter-scale truck.) Fun Fun! So be nice to me (Even though now you probably REALLY hate me!) as you'll want to be on my good side in the future! Chris P.S.-Here's a pic of my RPM table I made to test the speed of a car or truck while it's 'Not Moving" using a digital airplane tach (You can test 4WD's by taking off the front tyres.) The tyres ride on 2 ball bearing aluminum rollers. Thought you might like to see it!

sounds like you have alot of cool stuff in the pipeline... what do you currently make?

obviously with the equipment you have it shouldnt be too hard to make almost any machined parts you can think of... makes the small vertical mill I just got sound a bit rubbish...

Not at all, Spoon! For one, I'm not an expert at all these things yet, and I wish I had a little mill just to play with! Even when I get a shop, I'll have a manual mill (albeit with 3-axis CNC capability) and a manual lathe. I use 'em now to prototype some stuff, just 'cause it's very Zen and I don't wanna ba a button pusher all day! The one cool thing about CNC is that once I have a program on disk, I can make a onesy for myself, or 10000 copies for sale: So whenever I make something, I'm also generating a new product for my company. The R/C part will not be enough to pay the bills by itself, so I'll have the luxury of making just what I want, so the market will not dictate to me that I must produce T-maxx skidplates instead of, say, aluminum parts for the Blackfoot to stay afloat. One thing I'm making now is a tube notcher for small-scale tubing that screws on a Dremel, and will allow you to do a perfect notch at one of several angles (for the guys who build tuber chassis-Stay tuned, it's almost done.) Of course I'll make a few available to the chaps on the boards for a good price to 'Test the Market'. I hope to follow it up with a bender for small tubing that will allow small-radius bends without collapsing the walls, and.....I'll just say that doing projects in school will allow me to do some scale stuff I've always wanted to do, like the license plates! Right now, all I offer are those, spike lug nuts in 2 different designs, an aluminum Shock Shaft Pliers that doesn't gouge your shafts (Those are my biggest item, but more for racers) and some Clod beadlocks that are on hold for a few (I told ya I was small!) I'd give the full list of what's in the pipeline but don't wanna tip my hand to other manufacturers: But guaranteed, my items will be highly unique, and as my tastes are very much in line with you guys..... There is a HUGE gap lately in R/C aftermarket parts and tools that cannot be addressed by mainstream mfg. firms, especially scale/vintage items, that I'd like to address: But guys like you will always make the most unique stuff by virtue of the 'One-Off' nature of your parts, so don't be sad! Be happy! (Or be drunk if you can't be happy.) Chris

hey sounds cool....

I cant wait to see the sort of stuff you come up with. :chug:

as for my lil Mill, its cool but its also a learning curve, I havent really made anything for RC yet, I'm still learning how to work it, and making simple stuff like clamps, stops etc....I've got a couple of good books on milling tho...so I'm getting there. course the bit I cant do is mass production, but then again the whole point of me having the mill is that I tend to tackle problems in new and different ways to other people*, so custom parts are vital....

I might make some simple stuff(wheel hexes, servo stays, etc) to sell but more for the practice of milling than for cash....

*for example I was the first person to make a dagger with custom bellcrank steering inside the chassis(only Gimbal on RCMT had done bellcranks before me), I also ran a custom stretched chassis to make it all fit, and ran an EVX and titans on 14.4v with maxx rims, again a first on daggers at the time... its now one of the first all alu daggers ever made since the addition of the R2C2 alu gearboxes. that why I call it the super dagger....

Why????

I've NEVER said a thing like that!!!!

:rolling:

I think you are one of the most kind person in the world.
The lack of english language knowledge fails and I didn't know how to compliments you.

The mini clod axles should be AMAZING. How much do you think they could cost if you think to produce some to sell them?
I assume that you should build the inside gearbox item even. Or do you plan to adapt something existing.

hey, you think that you could produce some of those? tamiya has a speed tester for mini 4X4s, Xmods and mini-zs, but that's a bit small for something the size of, say, a Evader BX, which isn't 1/24 scale
