Traxxas scaler anyone?

Looks good!

Huh, can't say I expected that. Looks similar in design to an SCX10 II, but with portal axles. Not crazy about the giant fender cutouts and flares though, but the body isn't really the important part.

I just saw it too, didn't see it coming. ;) I really like the looks of those axles! The rest ain't bad either... lol

Took 'em long enough... ;)

It does look good, though. Now let's hope they can refrain from giving it some gaudy tribal paint job.

Portals, 2spd, diff lockers. Looks to be a great premium truck.

sweet! as much as I like traxxas stuff this could get interesting

This came out of nowhere.

Locking diffs and portals so why not a unimog body?

The land rover has been done to death. Now don't get me wrong I like the defender. I even own a 1:1 90. But everybody makes a defender body. Axial has the dingo, venom has its own, rc3wd has several and that one company I can't remember makes one.

But the chassis looks great. Front motor with a scale transfer case and not the axial backwards monstrosity. I wonder how much steering angle it has. Working lockers which probably are a bit useless but a nice scale touch.
The transfer case setup would probably allow for shifting 2wd/4wd. Or is the 2-speed confirmed?

All in all an interesting prototype. Wonder how much of the awesomeness is removed before it hits the shelfs. And what the price tag will be if the awesomeness stays. Summit range?

That's where we all step in... lol They can't have all the fun. ;)

2spd confirmed, yet.
A german site has a price of $602 currently. not sure if that's gonna be final.

If its 2 speed at higher speeds and cornering un locked diffs would be a benifet

Unlock just front to turn sharper on tight trails.

if that is 2wd/4wd not a 2spd that would be pretty cool. love the locking diffs idea, portals? meh

Does seem like they are late to the game, or they only just realized how much money everyone else is making off of their solid axle trucks... I agree about the body, something different or new would be cool.

Even late to the game they are bringing out the big guns. I dig it!!

Traxxas can't be late to the game since they're the most known RC company that exists. This will absolutely breathe life back into our hobby.

.

I'm all for it :nice:

All the Traxxas products I own or have owned have been well built/overbuilt in stock form. Also any time I had a problem with something (rare) the Traxxas support was the best ever, always going out of their way to help.

I agree, Land Rover has been done to death, another body would be good. I like the idea of a Unimog and would probably change that first.

I'll deffinetly buy it when it's available!
