Assuming that my picture is correct, is this second one possible?

Thanks!
Okay,

Looking at the correct wiring in this pic. All you do is tie all of the negatives together? They don't place down anywhere on the switch? I am getting ready to wire my switch/winch/steering tonight and just don't want to melt anything. lol..

IGNORE THE SECOND PICTURE!! That is wrong. You need a switch with six prongs and not three.
But to answer your question, yes, they just get soldered together and hang about on the side. You don't have to do the neg, you can use any of the wires, as long as two of them(positive, negative or signal) are connected to the switch. This is how I did it and it works.

Shout if you get stuck.....

Yep, I got a 6 prong switch. I was looking at the top pic there. Thanks for the insight. I will try it.

So basically you are just switching the steering signal out? 1:send it to steering and 2: sent to winch. power to both is constant?

correct.
not ideal, but better than no winch.

This could work with a servo winch right?

it should. All it does is switch from one (steering) to the other (winch). if you're pulling someone out it works great as you rarely need steering in that circumstance. if you're pulling yourself out you sometimes could use steering so its not perfect.

Got mine working. Not ideal but atleast it works. Better then just having the winch there like a prop. LOL.. Hand of god still rules the trail, but, hopefully some scale crawling with winching will kick in soon.

Ok I'm bad with the electronics side of things.
But after reading this I get the Idea. but why do you need to connect 2 wires from each servo?
wouldn't it work with a 3 prong 2 position switch?
keep all positive tired together, all ground together, signal from the RX to center and the 2 servos signal wires on the outside prongs?

Or even group your signals, group your grounds and switch your positive?

Is there a reason to switch 2 of the wires and group only one?

This makes me think i am correct though Im sure putting 2 wires on a 6 prong 2 position and grouping one pair does work wouldnt just the signal or power on a 3 prong 2 position be enough?

I just tried it, and its works. Thanks for the idea Pantablo
