What an excellent build, and I really like the originality of the color scheme. It looks great! Fantastic on-location pictures too.

Default Desert bashing...
Well, last weekend a few friends and I all went out to the Empty Quarter of the Arabian Peninsula to have Man Camp II. Just 7 guys, two Land Rovers, lots of firewood, and some good times.

Beautiful weather, great friends, camping... what more could you want?

This was the first time I'd had a chance to take the Sand-hopper out to play, proper like.

The Empty Quarter is home to 300+ foot dunes... it's vast, desolate, and somehow beautiful. Here's a shot for scale reference...



It just got better from there. I'll let the photos do the talking...

















She performed beautifully. It was a total blast. This thing was made for the sand.

Damage: sunroof came off, license plate came off, drivers mirror just about broke off, crack in the roof, some chipped paint... all in all not to bad and nothing that can't be addressed easily.

It's in pieces now getting cleaned... i washed a ton of sand down the drain. =)

Ha! Well, the pictures are pretty but if you check the weather here in May-September, you won't be so jealous anymore.

No beaches in Sweden?

Tamiya Sport Tuned 540 motor.

It was perfectly suited for the Grasshopper chassis on the dunes. Fast enough to get up to speed and climb up the dune faces, but not crazy fast so as to roll on hard turns. This chassis probably isn't robust enough for the punishment of brushless high speeds.

Our beaches are like 10 x 10 meters or so...

The weather here in sweden is... Cold from late sept/early october, snow from now ember to march/april, shorts/t-shirt starts in mid may to at best mid sept... Sweden suck!

Sorry to say, but Badboy lives in Sweden’s back yard… sorry I mean east coast that lacks long beaches! However on the Swedish west coast we have lots of long beaches

But I envy you for the huge dunes, which we don’t have in Sweden
