Default Scale 4x4 R/C mourns the loss of a long time friend

As many of you may have recently heard, Tim Minor a.k.a. KingCobra passed away on May 26th, 2009.

Tim was a hell of a builder and contributed to the board in more ways than he probably realized.

I ask that everyone take a moment to remember KC, post a comment about an experience you had with him, or a build of his that inspired you, or just just raise a glass to Tim.

Tim, you will be greatly missed by those of us that knew you personally and those of us that only knew you via Scale 4x4 R/C.

WOW! That came as a surprise.... I watched and talked with him through many builds on this thread.... That's a shame....

I didn't know that he was sick or anything...

This comes as a shock. I lost a family member to cancer this year so I really feel bad for his family. KC, your R/C family will miss you also.

His family is my prayers, he was not only an upstanding member of Scale4x4 but his builds were an inspiration, his attention to details was astounding, man, him and his work will be missed.

Unluckily I had not the possibility to meet Tim in person, but his courage during the sickness, the contribution to the board, just his words were a good thing I knew I could find here on Scale 4x4.

I'll miss ya bud. I'll raise a lot of glasses in your memory and you'll be in my thought.

Have a good trip Tim.

Not really a surprise to me. KC actually mentioned in a thread a while back about his cancer-related health problems and his short-ish time remaining. He knew it was only a matter of time and continued on as best he could. I salute him!

I'm not a religious person but I hope wherever he may be is a land filled with loved ones from the past, beautiful scale trails, and battery packs that never need charging.

Let's all raise a cold one to the man.

Sorry to hear Tim passed... Great builder and sounds like he was a pretty good guy. I never really talked to him much either save for a few times via PM...

Some of my favorite builds of his:

KC was an old-timer when I came on board, and never stopped impressing me with this builds.

He had many talents, kick-arse RC's were only one of them. He brazed the halfshafts on my 1/6 Ranger long before I could do it myself. One of the good guys, and he'll be missed.

Go rest high on that mountain, KC.
