Default CAMPER BUILD-OFF: Dremelit's meager entry

Okay, I started this when we began bandying about the build-off idea, but sat it on the shelf until the delayed build-off started. So I've got a day's head start on y'all.

If that DQ's me, bugger ya. I'm building it anyway

No roof...By definition it's a bin, not a trailer. You can enter it in Supra's Bin Buildoff.....

you guys think it will be any heavier then a exo'ed pick up with a tube rack and ton of garbage mounted on it? styrene does way less then steel.
it may not be that bad. I am sure it wont be a "comp" 1.9 rig but what 1:1 camper rig isnt a little top heavy. I hope it has that camper sway when he is done with it.

Of course it's top-heavy, it's a camper not a Lotus

So far the camper weighs less than a 1.9 spare tire/wheel, so there's no camper sway yet. But it's nowhere near done. it can't even see done from where it is.

stu you gonna do a pink foam roof top a/c for it?

there was a company out that made steel replacement covers for the a/c's they where super boxy but would look cool on a 4wd camper.

Maybe

Something like an AC I'd do out of styrene. I keep the foam for something that needs a lot of sanding, or a shape that's just too tough to make otherwise. I see pink propane tanks on this thing, though.

well on a real one the tanks would have to be in a compartment to be legal. but I saw lots of them with them mounted on the rear bumper which is highly illegal. and would look perfect on that truck.

you are gonna need to scale down a nascar bumper sticker or a #3 for a window to be totally scale, if you put the tank on the rear bumper. a hillbilly camper without a #3 on it is just not right.

the a/c's are pretty curved when you look at the real one's. unless you make the armor cover one. it was avalible in diamond plate.

by the way most old slide ins would have had a aluminum roof. so pie pan would look awsome up top.

stu I worked on more R/V's and trailers then you can shake a stick at so if you got any questions. maybe I can help you out for once.

I was wondering about the roof.

I've got some car siding for the sides, got a nice ribbed look, and I suppose a dirty white would be the color for the sides, with oxidized window frames and maybe a busted screen.

I like the window unit in back. I think I'll do that
