Should We Adopt the Banned Tyre List from the New 2013 SORRCA Rules
This would exclude the following Tyres and they would no longer be Legal at our events. Tire Ban List: • Losi Claws (all sizes, and types) • Hot Bodies Rovers (all sizes) • Hot Bodies Sedonas • HPI Rock Grabbers • Panther Cougars • Panther Leopards • Pro-Line Chisels (all sizes) • RC4WD Rocklin • RC4WD X-Locks (all sizes) • RC4WD Crazy Crawlers • Imex Skulls and Bones • Losi Bashers However not everyone has Spare Funds to get a new set of tyres so if we do Ban the above Tyres it will be a soft Ban for this Year. If you turn up with Banned Tyres you can still run your Truck but a Penalty of +4 per Course will be applied to your score. Sound Fair? Thoughts 'Charles' please don't think this is just a Pop at you as I think that we should be complying to this from now on. |

Will it count? Well no it wouldn't because spares have to be useable and if you needed to use it you would be attaching a Banned Tyre!! |

Right this has been up for more than a week now and no-one else has made any opinions.
SO We'll soft Ban any tyres that are on the above list. Turn up with illegal tyres and you can still run but will have +4 penalty per course for any trucks that are out of spec. |

These are for every event that we run.
Next Year you wont be able to run any of them period to bring us in line with the Official Rules. |

Do the rules exclude making your own tires (so long as all the parts are not banned)?
Like these that use stock pajero sidewalls with Mud Thrasher treads: ![]() also narrowed ![]() Just curious...

Hi Pantablo,
In the London group we have decided to continue running under the SORRCA, Scale Off Road RC Association, 2013 Official Scale Rock Crawling Competition Rules; so we have the following: Tire size will be determined by advertised manufacturer specs (tires without available specs will be measured off the truck as mounted on the wheel laid flat). •Tire modification: Class-1 Street. No external tire modification is allowed. Class-2 Trail. Tire lugs may be removed, siped, grooved and/or trimmed. Class-3 Modified. Tire modifications are permitted, as long as the tire is no larger than 5.75" in diameter measured off the vehicle laying on it's side, and all tire parts are from a legal scale tire. so the tyres you have with modifications to width and mixture of tyres, would be class 3 only for us. However they are great for trail runs and scale looks. I believe in the new proposed scale 4x4 RC rules that the USA is adopting, only the diameter and non-banned tyre parts are taken into account when deciding which class they can be used in, you need to check with your local group as to their plans for 2013. |
