Looks like things are coming together nicely!

I can't wait. I better get to cracking the whip on the Blazer to get it done and set up in time.

This will also be my first comp so I am anxious to see how I do

is anyone planning on camping when they go? and is a generator allowed if you need to charge your batts.? i dont use my truck, i have seen too many dead cars because of it. just trying to nail down some ideas to see if i can swing this. im leaning towards camping right now, its cheaper, and money is tight. will they allow fires to cook, or would a stove be a better idea?

just some questions to get my brain planning...

Yup from what I remember camping is allowed. Matt and I are gonna be roughing it in a camper down there. Dont worry about dead batteries, I got some great jumper cable and the my 3500 cranks out enough amps to crank you up.

Great to hear you plan on making the trip.

Note: for those plan on camping, be aware that there are no improved campsites or facilites. (no water, electricity, bathhouses, etc. ) The camping I've seen falls in the "primitive" category. Also, there are no numbered campsites or reservations, so I assume all the campsites are "first come first serve". And to repeat what was stated in the first post, the only facilities I've observed are two porta-johns and a dumpster.

Just wanted everyone to understand what to expect. The property is a county owned park. This is not a State park with amenities that you might expect at a normal, modern campground. Also, this area is a mecca for rockclimbers and rappellers. The point being that in the warmer months the prime camping spots may be hard to get, but for those intent on tent camping, there will be countless other places to set up camp, being that this is a 200 acre park.

I found one picture of mine that I'm attaching which shows what to expect with regards to a typical campsite. Also, some of the places people make camp offer a spectacular view (see photo from first post for example).

I'm also going to update the "Lodging" section on the first post. I just found some great info on a LOT more accomodation options on the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce website

Example of tent camping:

Updates on accomodations and drivers list made on first post.

If you think you'll be able to attend this event and want to be added to the drivers list, just post what class(es) you plan to run and your homestate. (homestate info is just for fun ) Me, or Jugg2Driver or Lastclodstanding will get you added.

This event is beginning to sound all to similar to the first Augusta far as growth and participation.
