You have to pay Road tax on any vehicle first registered after 1972. Sadly mine is 1983 so yes I have to pay

Insurance can be cheap but if you're young it will probably still cost an arm and a leg, fuel economy is rubbish.

Mini mine will display a tax disc even though I won't have to pay

Only pre '72 are tax exempt but some are MOT exempt and I think that mainly applies to old trucks. Yep London will charge you if you break wind let alone try to drive something

Headlights will be modified Hilux ones when I get round to buying some

Cheers mate

How did I do in RTV's?.........Ooooo, BADLY but I did do them in the 1:1 of this build so not suprising really, LWB, no power steering and 33" tyres!

Only did a few for a giggle and usually came last me and my Landy had a system, I ask nicely to go somewhere and if "he" didn't want to we would go where "he" wanted to all good fun tho

Got some glazing done today

I have a little glue to clean off some of the glass (yes actual glass) and sort out some form of window surround, most likely a bead of black silicone. The window tint is the very same stuff as on the 1:1 which I had been saving for this job

I guess some of you may have been wondering about the doors. Well, I ran out of the square section and still need to do the front doors window frame inner. Sadly my lhs has run out too

this is what you need for the windows. Real window rubber.

Stunning build so far!!

Cheers

Thanks Pip but sadly that stuff is way to big, I would need it at least half that size!

What about some black o-rings for around the windows? You could cut a notch in them stick them onto the panels.

How about some black electrical wire, silicone covered or plastic, spliced lengthwise down the middle, the copper wire pulled out, and then the plastic/silicone pulled over the edges, and then glued in place? I did that with my VMG hilux, and it works pretty well.
