I'll try to shed some light on this.
Frank(Fumotec) is partner/co-owner of Vario helicopters. I'm not into rc helicopters, but I believe Vario is THE manufacturer of large scale electric, gas and turbine rc helicopters in Europe. These guys are top notch engineers!!!!

In addition to RC choppers, Frank has a thing for rc construction equipment. He starts to develope 1/12 scale excavators on his own time(back in 2007 I think), post up on some forums, and the response leads to the start of the personal company Fumotec. Long story short: Obviously the interest (ie the market) for these models has proven to be enough to go "big". Now the products are branded "Vario".

Anyone with better intel on this.......feel free to correct me

Ole That is mostly correct Frank works for Vario and did the construction on his own but got to big for him to handle alone so he went in with Vario to sell and package the models this was told to me by Dave Hollins the sales rep for Vario and Frank is building the models He could be a part owner though I did not ask and they didn't divulge. I was told he is coming out with some more things but did not elaborate on it. There is another person involved because when I talked about money Dave had to talk to Kirsten. Don't take this to be gospel unless you hear it from Frank him self. Ed

Sounds like for most of us... We always have to talk to the female/wife about the money issue....

LOL. Unless you are still single, like me.

As for Vario, yes, their helicopters are extremely scale. They do offer more normal pod and boom type helis, but they can all be converted (I think) to a scale machine. As for their jet turbine models - and you thought this construction hobby was expensive! But they are really nice. I'd feel a little more comfortable piloting the controls of an excavator, rather then a scale heli that has a $6K turbine engine in it alone.

One can only hope there is another incredible model in the works, by Vario, Fumotech, Frank, or whoever is in charge! Maybe a nice front end loader, bulldozer, or articulated off road dumper. Heck, even a road going truck would be nice. Something not currently on the market even. A Kenworth perhaps? We can dream....

Been having some rainy days again, so can't do much on the farm and can't haul out of the basement either... the holding area atop the south wall seemed like a good idea last winter, but when it came time to haul out, not alot of space for a loader or excav to load trucks. So time for some more digging! Measured down 10 inches and cut straight across.

I swept the majority of the dirt lumps off by hand, but for kicks I brought in the equip to tidy up.

Now I'll have plenty 'headroom' for the equip and I'll be able to sit down while loading a truck... my lower back just kills me if I stand in the same spot for more than a minute.
