They're not required and you don't get any bonuses for them. As long as the truck fits the 1.9 or 2.2 (depending on the class you run) rules then you're legal. There are no scale bonus points like in the normal comp. Heck, there aren't even point penalties. All penalties are time penalties. You still want a real looking truck if you can but this is a little more based around performance and not loading up on scale items to get a huge point advantage.

Yep, that said though, I am working on an interior and a driver, its in my jeeps future. Scale looks for me is a personal goal.

If there were show only comps for scale, like a 1:1 truck show. I think that would be great. Then you could judge a trucks creativity only. And I would be into that.

I never did get mixing a truck show with a offroad competition?

I think it was originally done so that people would be encouraged to add scale details to their truck and be rewarded for doing so instead of everyone showing up with the same frame and a lexan body. Then certain things hindered performance so much that scale points got bumped up a bit to offset negative performance. Now everyone wants a scale point for EVERYTHING.

there not "needed" in scale comp either. you have them on your truck because you like the look or because you need the handicap point..

that said most the trucks had lots of detail anyway, I am running the same truck I plan on running in scale comps, you dont have to build anything special for it....

Yea, I was thinking the same. I did not want to discourage Nat from building a truck. But truth be told, Nat's current scalers would be perfect for the event.

Just get ride of the spare tires

Oh im not building a purpose build truck for this, im tapped out for all my rigs right now lol, Im gonna use the truggy, maybe throw some flatirons on it, Ive already moved the electronics to the frame and makin some proper body mounts. I might cut out the back seat so I can fit a bigger battery in it. and make a new bed floor so I can mount a second winch under it.

wham bam thank you maam, just about ready to go!

Where does one get the snatch blocks from???

I did nothing to mine. It's basically just a motor with a gear reduction unit on it so there's nothing in there that can't handle some water.

At this point we're looking at a series with a total of 4 different event days. 2 of those events will be in the akron area and the other 2 will be in southern ohio.
