Greg, refer to reply# 714, last picture; I'm going to remove that wall, build the wood crib wall, backfill the gap and hopefully whatever dirt is left will refill this hole without any excess. I'm going to move to my parents farm sometime late March -early April, I want to finnish this basement excavation before I leave.

JensR, no I wasn't joking. These rc's aren't heavy enough to cause them any harm... that's right, I said them. To my surprise I discovered a couple nights ago that there's atleast three of them now.

Last Sunday this the amount of dirt before I started hauling...

And by evenings end I got this much out, about thrity five loads.

This is the total to date that I've taken from the basement, though not all of it is there as I've used some of it around the yard to fill in holes & low areas. This subsoil clay packs as hard as cement. I taketh away from the side of my house with my farm FEL to pile it over there.

Now here is the pile to move out today.

I use the 850, as it's just four scoops to fill the trk.

so awesome! It would have been cool to run an odometer/ hour meter on these to see just how much time is on these machines!

Indeed RCJB, it would have been interesting to know miles/hrs... all in all it has been a very enjoyable past time for nearly a decade.

Indeed it was a great weather day! The one great thing about the 1st Fall frost (couple wks ago) is all the squiters are gone!

The WA500 got the nod to load trks today, even put the Lil Giants flagship trk to work as well (after the tx for the green GL died half thru)

It's fun to use this trk/pup to haul out, but I have to go outside to dump it so I don't snap the hitch when I jack knife the pup to dump the trk... lots of excercise I guess while play too.

The dozer grooming the pile to smooth it out - pack it so the 6x6's can start a new layer next Sunday.

I didn't quite get it all hauled out, but then if the weather is decent this week I won't have much time for digging anyway.

Wow Joe! You dig some serious amounts of dirt out of that basement, great pics!

That 850 is quite a productive machine!

Cheers fellow hobbyists!

vitalis, the trk/pup is a 6x4, gets around pretty good though with the tires full of BB's & the rear axle lock.

Today's fun.

Pretty cool day with a high of only 8C, I sat in my pickup (not running) out of the wind while operating the dozer for nearly an hour... made me ponder why I didn't think of that this summer when the skeeter's were so bad?!

I know the 2.4GHz systems work well within the house with the model outside at a distance of a few hundred feet, but the FM would glitch alot inside of twenty feet. The dozer is still FM, but it work almost flawlessly in the cab with the windows up.

Got the top of the wall all cleared off today so it's ready for excavation when the snow flies soon. Boy oh boy, quite a dramatic change in temps in just the past few days, gonna have to start wearing long johns everyday soon.... brrrr

Thanks Joe for the vids...I like the combo of equipment in the one video. I think you solved a problem for me. My two year old is infatuated with "cochtures" which are Tractors to you and me. He especially likes watching a bobcat around the neighborhood that he calls "kitty cat cochture" because of the emblem on the bucket arm! So I figured I should find some videos of heavy equipment for him to watch. Well, wouldn't you know it that Joe just posted up! He loves it, I get my lil giants fix and everything is good in the universe!

It's funny that you mention "cochtures", reminds me of a friend's lil boy missing his two front teeth & his favorite word was truck, though it sounded different when he said it... saw them in a toy store at the mall one day, lil boy jumping up & down with excitement, tugging on his mother's arm, pointing at a truck he wanted & screaming what sounded like a profanity... his mother's face just blood red with embarassment & I was laaaaughing.

Ahh kids are hilarious when they're wee little, too bad they grow up so fast!

Cheers
