The JD850 has a new kid brother, JD450 (Fumotec's 490 Komatsu excavator kit).

Wow that is a work of art!! I love the jackhammer attachment its just to cool!

I have a question for you, are all the pivot points a pin or a screw? if their a pin what holds them in place? is their some kind of retainers that bolt to the ends or a press fit?

All pivot points have a high polish pin. The pivots of the lower boom, boom/stick & lower stick/quick attach coupler are a friction fit. Other pins are held in place with grub screws, like the ends of cyls & metal arms. This the JD850 pictured & the JD450 is the same.

Thanks for that! I have been racking my brain over how to do the pivots.

Working under the west porch again, this is where the south entrance of the tunnel will be, turn right to go north & upward. I need to cut the face of the wall (to the west) back 2 feet & I'll have to do that with the hand held air chisel... the model hydraulic jack hammer is just not up to the task, unfortunately.

Did you build the rig that pulled the trailer in that last video? If so do you have a build thread on it somewhere?

Yes I did, it's another kit put out by Fumotec, it's a Bell B4206. I have a few build pics in my LilGiantsConstrCo thread on RCT&C.

I'm currently building the B50 ADT kit from Fumotec.

.

Man I love looking at all the pages of the stuff you have.
Wish I could get my hands on a loader, dump truck and excavator..... or I'd take just a loader. I'll just have to keep looking at, and drooling over what you have.

Man, I wish this kind of RC was more affordable.

Keep posting all the awesome stuff you do

Thanx Coolaid

Yes they are BigSki

Just the body & paint left to do on the B50, waiting on some parts from Fumotec.

It's been sunny warm here for 8 days straight, most of the snow gone & finally dry at the window opening yesterday, so I did few hauls with the B50. The box clears the window opening by just a few mm.

I've looked at the manufacturers site but you show more detail in your pics than they do! What an impressive piece of equipment. I'm guessing that all of the Tamiya based rigs will go into retirement now?

Curious about the tires- do they use foams inside?

Yes it is RCJB

I hope I didn't post too many pics & give away any intellectual property of Fumotec? but that's the jist of how they go together.

The Tamiya's will see alot less use in the future for sure BigSki, but not going to retire any of them just yet.

The tires have a thick sidewall & sole, but otherwise hollow. The tires have no problem carrying the weight. I think there is either a pic or a video on Fumotec's site of Frank himself standing on one foot in the box & driving around, his weight approx 175lbs.

I hauled a whack of dirt out this afternoon with the B50 again. Going by the number of hoe buckets, the B50 takes a little over 5, the KH & pup is not quite 5, the GL & pup is 6 and the ol' Stahl adt is 3. Calling for rain tomorrow afternoon Try to get some more out tomorrow morning when it warms up. Good fun!
