Still haven't got the pipe... But today I fabricated some servo mounts for steering servos, and got the front one test fitted. Still need to braze everything together, but that's how it's gonna be!

Don't know how my setup is going to work, but you won't see them ugly a$$ axle mounted servos on my trucks, I can promise you that!

Also found a couple pics more I took a few days ago.

The pipe finally arrived! My plan is to get that fake muffler thingy to show up from under the body in some cool way, but I don't know if it's possible before I get to test fit the thing, and to see what my options are. I'm planning also to paint that in flat black to get some camouflage to it, because I don't like the idea of some huge chrome thing like that sitting inside my precious chassis! Of course the out coming part is gonna be left as is...

Let's find out later how it fits inside the chassis...

This is how it's roughly gonna sit in there. It almost fit there as I hoped. Sorry about the blurry pics. I forgot to put my camera in macro mode...

Header needs some modification as you can see...

Great muffler, I love it XD

I onlu think your servos' setup wont work too well as it is now...you will have lots of torque steering and on a speedy rig it's very dangerous...

If I were you I'd use a HPI Wheely king's type setup, with servos fitted under the chassis center, and pushrods on the axles who drives steering rods...

I look for a pic 'cause I think a barking dok is more clear than me

I'm aware of the issues I might be facing with this setup, but I think it's gonna work well enough after all. I've been working with 1:1 off road trucks for years, and I know a thing or two about suspension and steering setups...

And, if my steering setup somehow ends up being a total disaster, I think I'll have to go with a hydraulic steering...

I haven't got time to build this rig in the past week, because I've been working on my 1:1 cars...

I forgot to post these pics, but I finished all the main tubes and brazings a week ago. Only some minor pieces missing here and there + all mounts for other servos and what not...

Tight fit, but everything works. I have a new tank on it's way, and it will sit right there on the servo.

I'm counting days to get that slag crap sand blasted off the chassis!

Also made the x-brace behind the driver. Tight fit with the pipe too.

And this is what I made today. This is the third channel servo for flipping the switch to hook up the rear steering servo to the front one, to get four wheel steer. I used that zip tie to test if the thing works, but it seemed to be so good that I might just leave it there...

I also have all the remaining mounts and stuff figured out, so tomorrow I start brazing them, and hopefully I get to shoot some powder on the frame soon...

The chassis is almost done!

I brazed all the mounts and remaining little things.

Something for mounting the drivers seat onto...

Here's switches and servos mocked up to their mounts. Guess what that micro servo is for?

Also trimmed and painted the body yesterday, and also got started with the graphics. Stickers look stupid, I know, but I guess this body is gonna be for bashing, and maybe I get another one that will have painted graphics in the future...

Today I sandblasted the thing, and that revealed some bad joints, so I need to braze some more, and sandblast it again before the powder coat. Hopefully I get to shoot some powder on it during next week!

Here's how my new tank looks like. Fits like a glove! I'm going to cut those mounts off, and use zip ties to hold the tank in place, to make it look like the real Digger's tank with cargo straps.

I re-brazed all the bad joints today, and sandblasted the frame again, so there's not much to do anymore before the powder coat...

The project ain't dead if you thought so!

It's finally time to break the silence, because I got the frame back today from powder coater! I had to get the coating done by a professional, because I couldn't find a large enough oven so it was impossible to do by myself.

But now it's finally GREEN! I got a new phone a couple weeks ago, and I'm not familiar with it's camera yet, so the pics are a little bit blurry.

Who needs a Boyer chassis?

It's good to continue from here when I find some time!
