Traxxas Bullet 2.1 wheels, they still sell the wheels in white, and can be painted....

Default Brushless fitting

Did you fit a brushless in the end?
I went with the Tamiya TBLM 02S. It's 2 pole, 17.5t and sensored, so not totally bonkers. The stock transmission is holding up just fine, and being sensored, the low speed control is very good.
I designed an adapter to make it fit - no major mods required. Its available on the Shapeways website for people who want to do the same.
