30%, I saw this on RCCrawler first, and I'm glad to see you share it here too! If anyone can appreciate the scale-ness of your project, it's these guys. Like I said over at RCCrawler, this is just mind blowing craftsmanship!

How much power do you think those solar pannels will be able to supply?

On the speed controller recommendation, my vote goes for a nice Tekin FXR/motor combo. I installed a FXR/45 turn combo in a friends crawler and I was impressed with it. It's small sized ESC footprint rocks, the drag brake is awesome, low speed control really smooth, and it's able to handle more input voltage then the Novaks. It's almost a no-brainer. I was a died-in-the-wool Novak guy till I got some time with the Tekin.

I started the build on RCC, through word of mouth and invitation, you will find it on a few forums. So far it's been very useful to post it all over. I've got a few priceless tips!

Each panel under bench test, indoor light, was putting out 3.2v. It will be more in the sun. They don't put out much current, but I think there's enough to notice when in direct light.... any comp rules on solar panels?

I am going with the FXR, it's won the battle. I'm love me some novak too, but the Tekin is callin.... thanks for the advice.

Sealing up the top….. == Oh scale god of everything perfect…. Please look over this sealing, watch over the contents within and hinder anything of danger useless and like putty in it’s path… Amen!

Sealed & Running Light test.

Shaping the Edges

Hard Coating the Cell Foam Exterior

It was a pain to find a hard coat for foam, that didn’t require some $2000 spray gun. Plasti-Paste™ by Smooth-On end product is great, but I’m new to working with it. It’s a 3:1 two part mixture that has about 8-10 minutes of workable time. Anything over 3/8” thick is rubbery-hard in 8, thin layers take longer to activate. It heats up, but after multiple test samples, and having so much courage from the sealing…. It was on.

Hard coat activation caught me off guard.

I know it doesn’t look like much work, but I’ve been sanding for 10+ hours. Going to get some sanding pads for my cordless sander, unless anyone knows where to find smurf sized auto body tools…

Thanks boss! Here's another

The truck is actually running…. Yes I said running, it’s got a couple parts that I threw in for now (servos) but this thing has tobe done within the next couple months. Shifting the transmission into 2-wd (rear) too 4-hi & 4-lo is awesome to say the least. I have to figure out how to set up the remote 3rd channel to have 3 pre-set positions, is that possible?

It’s a little out of order but here is the hard coat and useables to mix it up.

Hard coating continued….

Under the Hood ECS Rx Box.

Thanks for following along. It's been one stretched out project thats for sure. I'm trying to finish it off within the next couple months. Need to move the shop into a larger space. Before starting another project/build.
