the diamond plate is either Evergreen or Plastruct (i forget which, it came off my misc styrene pile), painted with good ol' Testors silver.

the wheels bug me, too. i picked up another set of HPI stock car wheels today. i'll fatten up the rears and slap 'em on there. to help me set up the running boards and mudflaps. yeah, that's it.

For the toolboxes: The hinges go on the bottom, latches on the top. That is the way all of the rollbacks I have seen are set up.

I will have to get some tow truck pics up for you guys then.

passenger side features another toolbox (Futaba this time), a Big Deuce spare tire (with wear) and a muffler from the Chevy. the big dent in the toolbox is where the Shoe Goo attacked the styrene :cryin: that's never happened before, i'll figure something out to disguise or enhance it.

notice the wheels.

it's getting duallies, but these are close to the same size, and as it's getting close to time to set up the running boards and mudflaps, i had to put 'em back on. i stole the original set of rims for Buster, so it sat on the mesh rims for a few days, but Matt made fun of me :cryin: so i had to change 'em back :poke:

the duallies get here when they get here. not only do i have to deal with trans-Atlantic shipping, but the stuff i ordered to trade for 'em still hasn't arrived. i'm beginning to wonder if i hallucinated the whole transaction.

Very nice work on those toolboxes and fuel tank :nice: !

For the wheels, I liked the old mesh rims better, they gave the truck a more sporty look :poke: ...

Nice work, one problem though. In every roll back but the semi truck sized ones i've seen has had the exhaust under the frame, yours is on the side, just trying to help your scalism.

P.S. Im going into work tonight so ill snap a few pics for you.

yeah, i figured there would be a problem with the exhaust there, but i had to put something there to cover up the chassis. the muffler was handy

maybe the pics will give me some better ideas.
