Try it. If it doesn't work, try something else.

Wow, this is really looking good. I might have to try a wooden body sometime. Never thought of it, but it really works out nicely. Or maybe you just make it look easy...

Thanks Mark, it'll be fine. Like i said, i had the wrong pinion in there. I love the way it fits under the hood though, its a cool little trans for sure.

Since you mention the wheels........

I got a hold of some cool rims from my trade with MagicMarker that look alot like the ones you see on most of these old trucks. I figured i'd try them out. I also got some 1.9 roklox. The tires were too tall for the truck but they do have a pretty scale looking tread. I figured i'd reduce them down to the size i need and see how they look.

I took 4 lugs worth out and some of the inner bead as well. Looks like this now. Think i may still sand off some of the side treads, don't care for those much.

I tried them on under the truck and they fit perfect. Perfect height and width. These look the most like a nice scale Fargo tire yet. I like 'em.

I do still think the side treads have to go away. What do you think?

Nice mod on the reducing....
I think maybe that tire looks little modern compared to the truck, but maybe it helps if you sand the sidewalls.

The rims look really good on there though

How'bout som reduced and maybe narrowed MIL-SPEC tires ?

Truck lookin good with color!

I think the tires could work if you sand down the sidewalls.

Can't wait to see this thing finished.

Thanks again guys and i totally agree on the side tread being not right, the main tread is good though, so first thing today, i got up and got rid of the fancy side bits. Its hard to find a good old tough looking tire. Thanks to Mr. Dremel, we can make them. I think they look pretty good now, how 'bout you?

Not sure if i'll leave the rims white or not. I may still go with matching them to parts of the grill. If i keep them white, i may paint some of the grill white too as lots of pics i've seen of these trucks had a white grill. May go with a cream colour to match the first pic in the thread on page one, that was my initial inspiration. Or i may leave the grill silver and paint the rims to match that. We'll see.

I did finish painting most all of the outer body today, a little shiny and fresh looking but i'm diggin' it. It really looks like a 67 Fargo. Ha, neato.

Here's a couple pics, it was night when i took these so the colours a little off, i'm holding a work light up over it so its kinda contrasty. I'll get more pics tomorrow in the daylight.

Ooh shiny! Did you use sealer over the wood, or just prime and paint?

No, just primer and paint. The paints a strong outdoor paint, its made the wood's surface really hard. Its built with good pine wood, totally waterproof and feels strong enough to stand on. I probably shouldn't try that though.

I love it all around... Great wheel & tire choice, the best yet by far especially with the sidewalls knobs removed! Now with it painted you can really see the body lines & how accurate the build really is! Are you gonna keep it so shiny or give it a weathering, maybe flatten some of the finish?
Incredible!
