And having a centre differential won't make any difference? 2wd is not really an option.

Center diff would work fine, and it'll take the stress off the gears in high traction situations. You'd have a slight overdrive on the front which is not always a bad thing, will help pull the truck through turns. I wouldn't run it just on asphalt with that gearing, but in the dirt you'll be fine.

Great! Center diff is already mounted. Pics coming as soon as I get the new rear axle.

Hi,

That looks great. Where did you buy the axle? I'm thinking about rebuilding my bash Slash to a truck with a live axle. Does it have the proper track width for a Slash 2wd (5805)?

Thanks,

It looks great ,but I would double capture those 4 links at the chassis..It would increase the strength of that set up 10 fold..

Thanks!
Double capture? Can you explain please.
But the upper links will be replaced later on with some traxxas rod ends. Just took what I had in the spares drawer for temporary use.

Double captured is when the heim joint at the end of the link has a tab on both sides like they are at the axle end. Its just a way stronger design that will have a better chance of holding up to the forces this set up will see...Keep up the good work!!!

Ah...now I understand
Yes. This is just temporary and not final. Will make a new mounts for the links on the chassis.
