LOL, it's not necro posting if you have something relevant to add...

So I think you have done a pretty good job.

It can get a bit frustrating, though, when a 5 or 6 month old thread is woken up with a 'cool truck' comment!!

My most important noob advise Just because I paid a Billion dollars for my truck does not mean you have to in order to have fun. Buy what you can afford and upgrade as money permits. That is the biggest turn of from noobs. They see me wheeling my highlift that I spent way too much money on and ask "how much was that". "Well that is too much" and the walk away from the hobby. I try to explain that just because my truck was that much does not mean they have to spend that much to have fun. I love my 199.99 rtr slash. $300 or less can get a good starter setup, truck(4x2 or 4x4), battery, charger, radio if you need it.

Even when you tell them the price of a stock highlift they nearly faint though.
A must when buying a highlift! ( Change them crappy stock tyres, you will see the difference straight away and it will perform how Tamiya should have made it perform as stock.

The stock tyres are far to hard, my first test run with mine, as soon as i got back i ordered slingers from Rc4wd! Best purchase ever

What's worse is when some guy does it to 20 posts in a row.

Now to add to Dan Trials post about radio gear, make sure that if you are going to use your R/C's with friends that theirs and yours aren't on the same frequency. you will be able to tell if yours is by it moving or turning with out you moving anything. The bigger your tires are the stronger your servo is going to have to be and Loctite any screw that could loosen up while your driving.

Exclamation Tips For New Members:

ok, welcome to scale4x4rc.org, heres a few tips for you,
1: to buy, sell, or trade items, you must have 50 posts or more.
2:I think many of you notice, people have the cartoon trucks below their pictures, i dont yet, i got a help wanted sign, it says if your a newbie, but u will get a chassis at 100 posts, then work your way up to a rc truck then jeep and so on and so fourth.
3:if you want to leave a comment on a thread or post, go to the bottom and click reply, or if you want to reply to a person, click reply on their message is the bottom right corner.
4: if you want to post pictures on a reply messages, go to the very bottom and click advanced someting (forgot what its called ) and wait about 3 seconds to buffer. then scroll down to manage attachments, and click brouse or post a link, but make sure the pic. isnt to big or it wont work.
5: if you want to post your own thread, go to fourms, click on a catogory you will post about, and at the top left, a little bit down, it should say post new thread, click that and do your stuff, the adding pictures applies for that too.

good luck

and most important of all: READ THE DANG RULES.....they are there for a reason. someone spent alot of time and trouble making them because they are needed......read them and follow them, and if you break them dont complain cuz someone called you on it.

they are there to keep order. but we still have a TON of fun, let alot of stuff slide and have ourselves a great time. you'll learn alot, hopefully even help someone else down the road, but you will have a blast.

just do what your supposed to and all will be well with the world.

Here's what I'd like to share:

Don't drive your cralwer (or any car) down staircases, you will break something.

CA is very sticky, so be careful when you use it.

Nitro cars are not gas cars. Do not put 98 octane in your Savage. And yes, I have seen this before. Speaking of nitro cars, maintain them. Otherwise they won't work, and that is not fun.

You get what you pay for, that being said, cheaper is generally worse.

Keep your truck clean. If you want to show people how hardcore you are by leaving it muddy, you'll also show people that you're a tool when your car siezes up with rust.

WD-40 is your friend.

Don't play with matches.

Look both ways before crossing the street.

Be nice.

I'm serious about the matinence thing. Really.

That's all I got. Have a nice day/morning/evening!
