hi, the tamiya cc01 is now a twenty year old chassis and it shows.

you could buy a stock one and spend a load of cash getting it to be a mild scaler.

wheras, buy a scx10 and (if rtr) just change the 3 link adapters and steering links and you have a almost indestructable scaler that will be competitive down the line if you want to take it further.

plenty of bodies out there too to choose from.

i wouldn`t even bother with a cc01 now, there toy grade compared to the scx

I have decided to wait until I can afford the Axial SCX10 Honcho kit.
I think I will use the following setup:
XL-5 esc (maybe waterproof it better than it is)
2075 servo
GT2 2,4GHz receiver
6 Cell 4200 mAh NiMH battery
55T brushed motor

Thanks guys.

can't beat the axial- best out of the box rig

you've probably know this but go to tower hobbies and become a super member for $10- you can then use a coupon that will take $60 off of a $300 purchase and they will ship for free. So now a $300 rig just became a $240 rig. Great deal if you ask me... which you didn't but it's just a suggestion. Cut/paste apply to your situation

Technically the $300 rig would be $250 :P

10+300-60=250

Though you DO get the benefits the rest of the year too...
