I'm going to give imageshack a whirl, their 19$ a year for a premium account sounds reasonable IF they don't jack up the price like photobucket.

The Photobucket thing sucks, I have a lot of threads that have dead images now

I hate to say it, but I imagine all of these "free" third party hosting sites will have to follow Photobucket, how else can they survive, someone has to pay for all that storage

What is interesting, back in the day, the forums used to store the images. Well, this site did.

If I go back to my Bruiser thread I did way back in 2008:

http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/sho...hlight=bruiser

All of the old images still work. Sometime before 6/14/2011 the site must have changed, because after that, all my pictures are now "dead" Photobucket links

I pay to be a member of two forums for this reason, they will store the images. I can't remember/don't know if this site offers that option

I posted thousands of Photobucket pictures on the Jeep CJ-8 site. Luckily for me, the site did a software upgrade right before TapaTalk was about to cut off all their photo links to that site. The CJ-8 site "captured" all of the third party affiliated pictures, and saved them. I now pay to be a member there, and save my photos to the site directly.

Unless I feel really inclined one day, my images are gonna stay broken for now.

As far as I know IMGUR promises to keep an image hosted as long as it gets 1 view per 6 months - that's assuming they don't go bankrupt and shut down the whole thing though

What I find to be most troubling, is not that all MY links have been cut, but almost all the build threads by Chip Cross and the other members who have passed are now missing the photos. If PhotoBucket doesn't care that they have removed history that can not be replaced, then I'll never give them a cent.
All my pics can be re-posted somewhere else.
PhotoBucket, you are the absolute lowest.

Came across a short term fix for viewing photobucket links using a google chrome browser add on

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...bifiaedg?hl=en

Here's another one for Firefox browser

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...=cb-dl-created

I've been using this 3rd party image host lately without making an account; load pics, grab the needed links to paste in the forum.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your membership cost for that site & is it an annual payment? If you didn't renew next yr, would they delete your pics?
