Default Advice on 1/18 Crawler Kits / RTR

Hi all

I normally build in 1/10 (mainly Tamiya or RCModelex) but have decided I would like a 1/18 crawler chassis to stick under a Tamiya Wild Willy body.

There are some conversions online but all with out-of-date chassis.

Not being very knowledgeable about my options in this scale, I thought I would ask the experts.

I will need a wheelbase of c165mm and ideally suitable for 12mm hex wheels.

Your recommendations are much appreciated.

Unless you are willing to build your own chassis or find someone to build one for you, I think it's a tough ask...

It may be easier to get a CC01 or the new Tamiya Suzuki Jimmy to fit a 1/10th Willy shell?

I should have been clearer.

There are some interesting Tamiya Wild Willy conversions out there that used the Losi Mini Crawler chassis

And a 3D printed chassis for Losi MRC parts.

And a Tamiya TLT version too.

Given the Losi seems to be discontinued and the TLT is not really a favourite of mine, I was wondering if there are some other 1/18 chassis I could consider.

I do not really know the 1/18 market so am not aware of all my options.

Hope that helps. If there is a brand / model I should look at please do let me know.

I believe the vaterra slick rock is basically the same as a losi mini crawler. You might want to look at one of those.

Redcat everest 16 is essentially the cheaper version of the mrc, slickrock, and exceed maxstone. I have one for my clodbuster, and it fits great and ran great when it was still together.
