Bit of an update now.... So after getting myself a lathe/mill/drill thingy

And remembering how to use one (last time was a school) I had a go at making some hubs to replace the standard nuts

The results

With paint

And on

I know they're not perfect but for a first go I'm quite pleased, well at least they look better than nuts

I also managed to get to a "real" Land Rover show and picked up some NATO paint, some for the big one and some for the 'lil one. Now I will get a prefect colour match

Cheers Bulldog

So after a lick of real NATO green and black paint the exterior of the body is almost done, just need the stickers/markings and number plates now. I thought I would put the body back on and take some pics before I make a start on the interior.

and a couple on the bonnet of the real one

Obviously the colours still don't match but I haven't repainted the big one yet

Have to say this is one of the best builds on this forum.
Hopefully I can engineer something this good to be mass produced one day....

Should I say it again. Yes I should. Awesome work Munster. I also really like how you made those wheel hubs

High praise indeed, thank you muchly

Have been toying with the idea of producing this as a kit but doubt there would be demand enough to bother

Don't suppose you guys are planning to do the 1:55 pressed steel wheel as a 5 stud do you? Would save me a heap of work

Thank you IKke, I had to make those because yours only have 5 nuts and I need 6! turned out pretty good all things considered

Just noticed all my typos, I blame the iPad...

The only 5 lug 1.55 wheel we have is the Landy wheel:

Shame, I need 1:55's in eight spoke with 5 lugs!!

Ah well, I feel some (more) modification coming along then

Know all about typos and i-pads, I usually read through three times before I post!!

Those first three pics would fool almost anyone. Yes, this build is one of the top of the top builds.

Hard to believe it's not already in Top Builds.

Fantastic work sir. Can't wait to see what you do for an interior!

The build has to be completed before it can be a top build. I have no doubt it will be once it's done.

I was gonna say that well not the no doubt bit but the other bit

Don't get too excited about the interior, just doin' the front as the rear is kinda full and with the tinted windows....who cares?! The door only opens so I can get to the on/off switch
