Default Zabbe's VW Iltis

I've been wanting to do this for a while.
And since it seems like the only projects I ever finnish, is my buildoff entries, I joined the last one over at NORCC.

For those of you that don't know the iltis, its the grandfather of the Audi Urquattro.
4WD, Indy front and rear, cable operated difflocks...

The civilian version looks like this:

There is allso a military version that I don't care about. Built by bombardier for the canadian army.

Will be using some sort of modified TA01/2 or TB01.
Scale 1:7.85 gives a WB of 257mm and width of 193mm.
And at that scale, 1.9wheels resembles 15inch wheels.
So its actually a perfect project for a touring chassis with some extra GC.

This is the progress so far...

Thanks!

It was some sort of VW military project. But they also sold it as a car for young people. the first pic is from a VW ad.

Looks good so far, I like it !

I guess 99% of them were military versions for the German army. When the Iltis appeared in 1979, it cost more than a Mercedes G and hardly any civilian versions were sold.
It's based on the old DKW Munga:
