Can't belief it's true, but yes, another Land Rover body arrived straight from Hong Kong, thx Peter! Or closer to the truth, my wife couldn't belief it's true

Man, this really is starting to become obsessive, I'm seriously in need of a doctor... and so are all of you

Having the pretty standard blue Land Rover 90 stationwagon and the ongoing build of the Challenge PU truck I really wanted to cut up the Landy body even more

Inspired by this

And the great builds by Greasypete and Azonic

The next build will be:

The Mellow Yellow Rock Crawl Landy
  • SCX10 chassis
  • TLT-1 axles, both with steering (4WS)
  • planetary transmission with T1 transfer case
  • dual spring coil-over shocks
  • 1.55' alloys with Mud Boggers (Mudslinger)
  • bent links
Don't expect me to start very soon, as you know I'm terribly slow

Pana, you're lucky not building 1:1, otherwise you'll be broke

Your blue SW have ever been great inspiration to me, so maybe your next projects will inspire me to do some another

x2. I love your blue Landy. It's one of the builds that is responsible for enticing me into scale RC!!!
I can't wait to see some progress on this project.....

Default Tire fetish

Not much of an update, but I have to share something about my tire selection for this build with ya!
Just received this package...

These guys from RC4WD keep on amazing me, those tires are again spot on!

Great scaleness looks and still great performance (well, so far at least they look very promissing...), my favourite combination
Rims look awesome as well, so I can allready tell you this will be the tire for this rockcrawling rig, but...
First I have to do the drill > checking my feelings and assumptions. So I took the Challenge Landy for reference and tried the 2 options I had in mind.

Reference shot (with the allready mighty tall Trail Buster tires...)

Slingers

Those tires are HUGE, which is exactly what I'm looking for (will cut the fenders wide open...)

So... unless RC4WD come up with a 1.55' Rok Lox version the deal is done... Thx for watchin'

When you enlarge the wheel openings, keep the SDI flares in mind.
They install quite nicely and are VERY flexible.

Default I love the smell of ABS in the morning...

After receiving the tires and rims I just had to know how they would look on the cutted Defender body I had in mind, so... 'Dremel Time'

Used the Challenge truck chassis for the mock-up, so in fact I'm fooling myself as if I'm much further with the build then I really am , but as I said, I had to know

Just cutted one side and the top is still on the body, but here's some pics

Maybe I will cut more on the fenders, but for a start I'm pretty happy with the overall looks...

Have to wait for TLT-1 axles and more stuff, so will go back to the Rougher & Tougher Landy build

Thx for watchin'
