Default 1/20 scale picture gallery ( and some 1/18 )

These are just some links I had saved and thought it would be cool to have them in one thread.
many are popular, some are in old dead threads
I left out a few unfinished builds but this will show whats finished and hopefully inspire some more 1/20 builds

If you have any question I suggest to use the names and search for the build thread.
all Screen names are from RCcrawler Unless otherwise noted ( but they may have the same name on this forum )

First up are a few builds from Chevy55

Murdock

GreenRiver

ScalerLover

PardonMYn00b

Slonoma

TurtleShuffle

RCDave13

RatBoy99

03NCTJ

Smoke&mirrors on Scale4x4rc.org with the same body

Fossi from Germany on MicroTforum
with his custom cuts 1/20 chassis
http://www.microtforum.com/forum/vie...0ff5cb48cb6bb8

Redmike

Kenworthit

mibaxx on Scale4x4rc.org also with a custom cuts chassis

MGcrawler on scale4x4rc.org
simple stock build but paint details set it off!

JayMillz517 on Scale4x4rc.org

my recent favorite build
ShapeShifter on Scale4x4rc.org with a Defender body

T-buck with an SMC+ 5.5 chassis

Prime on scale4X4

Ax-10Canadian

Bugs on scale 4x4 ( take note of the chassis, transfer case, & scale hubs! )

Those are awesome! I just realized, seeing the diecast, that I could finally take the 1/18 scale volvo xc90 that matches my wifes, and make it rc! LOVE that.

Very very cool collection. And I must say I'm honored to have made it in there. I think the rest of us combined still have less than Chevy55. And for anyone interested, mine and 03NCTJ's are 1/20 bodies shortened a half inch or so. So idk what scale that makes it. 1/22? lol

Lol, i noticed that when posting.
what do you mean yours and 03NCTJ's were shortened an inch? I didnt see where it was taken out of the body
in the build threads

from what i can see the width sits the same as some 1/18 diecast TJ's which is a hair wider than the 1/20s ive seen and have. not sure if the TJ is wider than the CJ or if the scale is just a little off. maybe its a 1/19 lol

losi micro axle Width is perfect on my Nichimo 1/20 CJ-7
I have a 1/20 Monogram CJ7 with hardtop on the way i cant wait to try out

a very inspirational collection, thank you for sharing.

Judging from the pics, it looks like the rc4wd tires are about the same height as the stock losi ones, I may have to look into getting me a set of those.

it is a great collection, and thats why I saved a folder with build thread links.
I have quite a few 1/20 bodies and many ideas Id like to eventually see come together
I recommend everyone check out all these build threads to get an idea of the different suspension setups, chassis and body mounting ideas

BTW I have both RC4WD tires and when mounted on the same wheel have noticed a very tiny variation in size, not enough to worry about

Wow! I actually already had almost all of those pics saved to my hard drive as insperational builds! Feels good to make a "Best Of" list.

BTW, to clarify, my Defender body is not diecast, it is plastic.

I dont think I put the body chop in my thread (sorry) I cut mine in a line that follows the rear fender flare from just behind the door openings to the middle of the flare then straght up and across the width of th body. then I removed a half inch and re attatched the rear section with a little ca cement. Sanded it then painted it!
