Default jeep cherokee project SCX10

so for Christmas i got a honco and i love it! great rig, only issue i was having was the cogging when crawling. i put in my spektrum and still was having the issue. oh well, screw it. so i kept driving it like that, threw on a comanche body, could never get the body lines to line up so i decided, well, ive had 2 failed scale cherokee builds so why not try another?

so i tried on a cherokee body, wb to long, so i found out that axial included the shorter links in a parts tree with the truck! cool! more money for other crap. so i put on the links, body fits alot better but the wb is just a hair short for my taste so im going to make some links later. keep in mind, im a college student with 2 jobs, 2 real jeeps and a girlfriend so i have literally very little time to do anything with r/c..not to mention the gf thinks its lame (she really likes real jeeps and helps me work on my 1:1 crawler but thinks r/cs are dumb idk, she doesnt care but i dont work on them when im with her.)

so enough rambling, heres the idea

axial chassis, tranny, axles
55t integy motor, low gearing
deans all around
waterproof
spektrum
flat irons for now
hpi stock car wheels to narrow width
proline roof racks (2)
proline light bar
some scale accessories
proline under body
proline interior
find a driver
maybe some super swampers in the future

so heres some teasers

film removed, i tried to do a window tint like stock jeeps (rears tinted, fronts and windshield untinted), but it didnt turn out the greatest, oh well.

so thats where im at, gonna paint the bumpers black and maybe flares. im probably going to ditch the sliders.

also, i kind of do miss the bead locks, glued tires kind of suck. anyone know where i can get some beadlocks that have more backspacing than the axials?

thanks man and yeah i dunno, not looking to spend to much on wheels haha..thats what i like about these hpi wheels..$10 for 4

i painted the bumpers and flares, plus mounted the racks, some accessories and the light bar..looks better than i thought it would!

picked up these now maybe im retarded, but how does this thing mount? i see a spot for 1 screw hole on the batt tray and thats it

all mounted up

had to cut up the back rack for body mounts and to fit the spare..just barely squeezes in. i dont think im going to even have to mount the tire to the rack haha

and some posers

also ordered the interior set today, put the 55t motor and deans in, waiting to put the underbody on and then ill mount the esc and take it for a spin. cant wait to drive it, gonna be like a whole new rig

thanks man

got the underbody on and the jeep back together and running so i took it for a test run. drives great! i might end up getting a better esc cause it still has some little hiccups when crawling real slow but its alot better with the 55t and lower pinion.

oh, got some plates too haha (XRY403 is my 1:1 xj's plate number)

thanks man ive seen alot of cut up and beat up looking cherokees so i wanted to do something different. sure it will eventually get some scratches and scuffs but its an r/c truck haha. i had beat the crap out of my 1:1 cherokee but still tried to keep it relatively clean..until i rolled it, lol. but the next cherokee i replace it with is going to be a wheeler, but try to keep it pretty clean as well.

heres the 1:1 for reference

and before the flares

and a wheeling pic for good measure

and what it looks like now

it will one day be getting another cherokee to swap parts too..it has 250k on it with the tranny messed up, tcase messed up, needs a ton of attention and would just be easier to swap the suspension and axles to another. just need to find the right donor at the right price. but im a full time college student with 2 jobs so no time or money. plus i have a97 grand cherokee thats turning into a money pit too lol

yeah i did sorry for the late response. i had a lady cut me off while i was driving and i swerved to avoid her and hit a snow bank which caused it to flip. it sucks but what can ya do. i still got it for when i get another and want to swap parts.

i took it out today for a quick spin..driver did ok but rolled it twice haha

overall it did pretty good..it feels a little more top heavy with everything inside but thats to be expected. i still need to figure out my glitching issue but other than that, it does great
