Default 1/5th Scale Blown V8

This is the official kickoff of the blown Demon V8. I’m going to start a new thread so there will be no confusion to someone who starts reading the other thread.

I looked over the parts in the garage. I did make a lot of stuff for the second engine but when we started getting to the end a lot of the “I’ll make two” went out the window.

Among the big parts is the block. The block and oil pan are 100% complete. The liners and lifter bushings are pressed in and the bores are finished and ready for pistons. That will save at least a week and maybe two. The bell housing adapter and bell housing are also done.

The heads are done 100% and the valve cages are pressed in. One head has the valves installed. Both heads will need the rockers installed. All the pieces for the heads are made and tucked away for the later process.

The intake is nowhere. I made the blank but still need to do everything. This manifold will be completely different than the carbureted unit.

The valve covers are done but will need some kind of work to fancy them up a bit.

The camshaft is cut and assembled. I still need to do all the hand work to smooth out the cam lobes.

I also have the Timing cover done as well as the balancer and blower pulley.

I’m thinking the place to start is with the block. I’ll get it trimmed out with crankshaft, rods, pistons and so fourth and just roll from there. It will be a slow start because of the holiday ending and I have a lot going on in the next 2 weeks.

HERE WE GO AGAIN!!

I thought you were going to take a break! You're an animal. Can't wait to see this one fire up.

Edit: Giving you five stars out of the gate, since I know this is gonna be a winner!

Yes I saw it, but I read it as in you blew it up, as in it died! Only when I saw the picture I realised you meant "with a supercharger"!

I'm glad it still goes, I would have felt your pain if it was dead. And it goes beautifully!

I can't wait for this one to run!

Definitely subscribed to this one. I don't comment a whole lot, but I do check religiously for updates. I even send links to friends and FB acquaintances to check out the awesome work you do.

cant wait to see this motor i know in the other thread you wouldnt put the carb'd one in a vehicle. but since your going all out on this, i could see a scale powerglide and 72 chevelle in your future? just as a show piece doesnt need to be driveable. but would be a oh so sweet resting spot for this project.

I assumed you meant supercharger because of the blower pictured in the other thread and references throughout to "there will be a second one with a blower". Still I can understand some confusion...

Cant wait to see what you make of this one

Like the spoon said, I knew you were making a blown one because I have read the whole of the other thread, heart did skip for 27.5 milliseconds though til the brain got hold of the correct meaning of "blown" in this case.

As with the normally aspirated engine, you have my attention !

Just thinking...would it make sense to make the title say "1/5th Scale Blown V8" rather than "1/5th Scale V8 Blown" ? think the title as it is suggest the existing v8 gone asploded, where the other suggests a blower v8?

I can change it in a jiffy just wanna be sure it makes sense to others.
