Wink homebuilt HUMMER H1 - new body and chassi - manual lockers

i've been thinking of this a long time now , so its time to do it! it'll be as scale as i can get it , 2.2'wheel = 16.5' wheel in real life and the PL moab's is like 37.5' tire in 1/1! drivetrain/suspension.. , im unshure but i think ill use some emaxx parts . and for the electronics , ill make a box , so is capable of driving throu some deep water , and body will be made from lexan , 2mm plates , and will be hold together with aluminium L-profiles , it'll be the xlc2 (2door pick up) Length: 62.4cm , Width: 29.2cm , Wheel base: 44cm , weigth: ?? ... heavy! this will be a lontime/winter project .

it's still just on the paper , but in a couple of days ill have the first body parts ready.

and i dont know for shure yet if i will make the 2door or the 4door , they both are kind of special since they both has been out of production for some years now, and the 2door i think was out of production in 2001 , but i like the 2door better, and there is always possible to make 2 doors more and add them , since the body will be made more like the real one , so parts can be replaced when damaged

scale is 1/7.5

Hi, I am from germany. At the moment I build up a Hummer H1 Station! So I can say your parts are realy good work! But I am sorry to say that i found a very nice basic body from China. Scale is 1:7.5, here is a foto:

I had bought two of it.
Here is my first body:

Here is a foto of some changes on the body:

thanx folx , great you like the project

@ ModellbauGuru: ive been looking at that one and thinking it would work , if i sawed out the wheel-wells a little , but i wanted to build it from the ground up (been doing a lot of body mods on tamiya hummers) , so if i build a 2door now i can add 2 doors more and get a hmc4 , or in other words , like the real one.

found out that PL moabs tire is like 37.5" tire in 1/1 , and the look kinda like SS tsl , so now i just need som money to buy tires , wheels and drive train componets , before i can do more.

so hold on its not a dead project!

@ dremelit : thanx

ive been doing some more on this one the last days , but its still just a body..

waiting on a maxx i got cheap , revoshocks and a stampede trans..

but here's a few new pics , the wheels are actualy stampede wheels , and the front from tamiya hummer wheels.

i still dont know what color it will be.. but the frame , suspension , shocks etc , will all be black.. but for body ive been thinking of green metallic or white.. but its still a long way to go before im at the painting stage.

hope you understand my english

and the 2.2" hummerwheels

the imex all T tires is not the permanent tires.. hopefully moab's will do , all T is for competition and hardcore offroad..
when its done ill have to get air in the tires to hold it up
