2.2 Mud Slingers- Soft edition PDF Print E-mail

Everybody knows about Mud Slingers. Great looking scale tire, but too hard to use in a comp, right?

Well, everybody's wrong!

RC4WD's new "soft edition" Mud Slingers are just the ticket for a comp-worthy scale tire. The new compound grips like no tomorrow, and they still look the same, so no one will know you're packin'  the sticky ones til you whip 'em at the comp.

On sections where the original slingers would struggle, the new ones walk right up, even in the frigid testing conditions. Other than the new compound, the Slingers are unchanged, which means you still get the great looks and the sound of Mud Slingers.

If you look carefully, the new tires are a bit shinier when new. And they feel much softer. They deflect noticeably under the weight of even a modest scale rig. No problems mounting them to beadlocks; the nice fat bead is unchanged from the original, as are the great looks.

The Mud Slingers were good before; now with the Soft Edition, they're great. The 5-inch OD suits 1/8 scale scale rigs and comp rigs, and with the new compound there's no reason not to use 'em in competition. The sidehill performance, already good, has improved with more grip. While there's slightly more sidewall deflection, it's not severe and you won't risk rolling over.

Tested with full, uncut foams , one beadlock screw removed for ventilation. I'm impressed and you will be, too. Two thumbs up. If I had more, I'd put 'em up.
