help with a vintage kyosho?

I thought you bike guys could help me with this one.
I bought this bike at a very good price (cheaper than I would spend on a bottle of wine) but can't find anything about it on Kyosho's site or any site . can you help?
the rider is plastic body with a cloth! overall with a zip? a late 70's style fairing? and the only reason I said Kyosho is because of the tyres.
Pictures!

As you can see see needs some work but I'm sorted for motor, esc, battery and 2.4 system just want some info on the old girl
Thanks
Scott

it might be one of the first generation ''hang on rider'' series.

maintguy69 11-07-2010 02:54 AM

it is called a Eleck Rider

it was sold by Graupner but made by Kyosho in the 70s

tempra007 11-07-2010 04:54 AM

maintguy69 11-07-2010 04:22 PM

What a bike!!!!

Wow,man, this bike is pure r/c history!
It was the first mass production bike al late 70's ,needed skills to drive it...If it falls you got to pick it up...
Very rare model, keep it for ever!
make spare parts at a local machinery shop or similar... :)

What size is that motor in them? would be nice to find a scale engine to fill the gap in the frame.

tempra007 02-14-2011 01:44 PM

looks like a 380 size motor

you are leaving this one rusty though right? I love how it looks like a barn find, i also love the way the alloy wheels are oxidising. I say run it as it is:banana:
