Default Holden HZ Overlander Station Wagon. (AKA Aussie Longroof)

Yup... been up to no good again ! Once more, Iím going down the rabbit hole... you woulda thought I had more sense by now....lol ! If you arenít careful, Iíll probably take some of you along with me...

Hereís what Iím hoping to accomplish....

And hereís where Iím at ... still working on the roof ( Roofs = is how much I like them compound curves ) so took a shortcut or so I thought... ... hoping to get the roof sorted in the next coupla days...
The chassis is gonna be a TF2.

Watcha think?

Iím also gonna be doing an on road version at the same time ... will get that thread started once I figure out this roof....

Hz is definitely my favourite in the series and don't mind the wagon. You're doing a great job with it so far as always.

Neat. Looks like a great start!

That stance kinda makes me think AMC Eagle. Were those rwd or 4wd/awd?

Hey thanks mate!
They all came out of the factory as RWD with a normal street stance... the 4x4 was added on at another company on new and used Holdens. Apparently the work was so well done that Holden still honored their warranties....or so I read...lol! They used Dana axles and added leaf packs to the front.

Oh yes! Trini strikes back with the Holdens! Are you shooting for that cowl hood scoop too? It's a cool mix of off road and sporty body with the scoop and front paint matched bumper. Is it some kind of molded plastic bumper, or a metal painted?

Also, other than the nose piece, are you using any of your Overlander molds or parts as a guideline, or are you starting over?

Very nice start, can't wait to see some more!

Hey thanks Fred !
Gonna try to get it as close as I can to the pic... an Aussie bloke asked me to build it as the one in the pic is his 1:1.... so yeah...cowl hood scoop and one piece modified front bumper/ stone shield spoiler thingy...lol !
Basically itís the same as the Sandman except itís a wagon... so developing the roof and then gonna make a cast of it, then vacuum form to build regular 2WD wagons. The plus side is the front of the roof will also work for the Coupe and the Ute versions, so wonít have to build those from scratch...just a slight mod of the vacuum formed piece. Everything else is standard...dash, seats, front glass etc. however the stock wagon tail gate folds down, but heís modded his to lift, so will be doing that as well.
This body is going on a standard TF2 chassis. Donít think Iíll be modding the chassis like I did the Sandman as the lift in his pic looks closer to the stock TF2. Iím currently building another RWD wagon but havenít gotten to the chassis as yet, but will be coming to that soon...lol!

This is gonna be bad ***. Reminds of the 70's Buick sport wagons.

That yellow/black is quite striking, but with the black accent, any color would look awesome.

These look the part too

Hey thanks Willezcr8!
Yeah...that Buick wagon is pretty bada$$ ! But for some strange reason I feel myself drawn to the Ď57 Mercury Voyager 2 door wagon... I think that I will be building one of those sooner rather than later....lol!
Are those wheels 1.55Ē ? Those will be perfect I think! Who sells them?

Those are Boom Racing rims and yes they're 1.55.

A while back, I cut down some 1.9 Dirt Grabbers to 1.55, that turned out about 3.5" or 90mm. Did the same to the Cepek FC-ll's and they came out at about 3.4". Any idea what size your gonna need to give it that scale look?

Thanks for the heads up on the wheels! I havenít actually looked at what the OD of the 1:1 tires are as yet ... but i do have a set of the Mickey Thompsonís Baja MTZs which has a 3.30Ē OD. Iím hoping they will work...
