Well the most realistic R/C's out there are the Tamiya Pajero/Toureg, Hummer, and F-150/S-10

well the most realistic would be the bruiser or hilux - all metal 3 speeds from 20 years ago....however parts availability is not great, and even when you can find parts its not cheap...I've known people buy roller bruisers for parts to save money...lol

the jero is the best bet - either the Pajero XB(RTR short wheelbase) or the Toureg CC01 chassis(LWB available as a kit only with or without ESC, the ESC is a good idea if you dont have anything better already).

or you could try to track down one of the old kits based on the same XC chassis that used hard bodies: the Jeep Wrangler(rarest/most sought after), Isuzu MU, Honda CRV(LWB and taller tyres), and Pajero metaltop wide....

you can get very realistic unimog kits from robbe but they are rare outside europe, and most stores that sell them are in german only...
