Default build ideas/ suggestions

i was wanting to build a truck and trailer to haul my hilux. the only problem is that all of the 1/10 scale full sized trucks look too small in comparison to the hilux.
i was thinking of just building a 1/8 or 1/6 scale truck to pull the hilux but, despite my search, i can't find any pics that compare the two.
does anyone know of any sources or pics, or have any comparison pics that they could post up?
thanks,
dave

I don't have any pics but I can tell you 1/6 will be to big and look silly also. 1/8 would probably be your best bet. See if yo can find a 1/8 newbright JK with a hilux in the pic. The JKs are 1/8 scale

i have a 1/8 jk body and it's way too big compared to the hilux. plus, i was wanting something that could really haul a trailer with a hilux on it, like a full size pickup.
the problem seems to be that when a manufacturer says a body is 1/10 scale, or whatever, it oftentimes isn't.
i guess it would be a 1/8 pickup body that i'd need to find though, but i've worked with so many 1/10 scale bodies that i've never really thought about what's out there in a 1/8 scale truck.

I have te same issue. If you look at HPIs lexan bodies, the ones they consider 1/8 and the 1/10th ones seem in scale with each other side by side, so are they all 1/10 or 1/8. The Hilux body is big compared to other 1/10 trucks I've seen that in group shots of scalers.

yeah, i believe i'd lean more towards 1/8 scale as far as the hilux. i'd like to find a 1/8 scale silverado or dodge ram body, but i'm not sure if they even make them or not.

Hilux is 1/9 scale. I know this doesn't anyone, but I thought I'd throw it out there

well then, if there's a 1/8 scale harbody full size truck, then it should still be pretty close i'd think.

I can tell you the only Dodge Ram that's Hard body is too small. There are some old 1/6 scale ones that pop up on ebay every so often, scalerlover made a truck out of one. Other than that the only Dodge bods are HPIs Dodge Ram "1/8" or Prolines which are fairly small and not very nice looking.

Yeah the 1:6 Dodge was huge, and even bigger after i quad cabbed it
Unfortunately i deleted all my pics after selling everything so i couldnt reminisce.

That 1:8 F150 is ok, its just smashed height wise a little bit, making the proportions look funny.

Its been a while since i had mine, but i would say its fairly close, other then being longer. Its right at a 13" wheelbase...

that's what i mean though. a 1:1 f-150 is quite a bit bigger than a 1:1 hilux.
when i say proportionate, i'm meaning the way the two would compare as 1:1

I'm working on a 2wd project with an older Newbright F150. I think this body is fairly accurate and the dimensions might be what you're looking for. I'll be starting a build thread on this soon.
