Awesome Nicky! I've been wanting to buy or build a sailboat for the longest time. After checking out that link, a steam boat would be sick too.

Do you have to steam the cedar at all to get it to bend well or just get your strips thin enough?

Love it, keep it up

i used a scroll saw to cut out the bulkheads, and a table saw to rip the planks.

Wow man that this going to be beautiful, seriously difficult build. There is a guy with a 1:1 40-45 foot diesel tug from roughly the 1930-1940, he restored it and up graded it with a pleasure yacht interior, and tons of beautiful teak wood all over it, he named it "The Mallard". You are gonna have an amazibg craft when done, nice job and keep it up.

45 min drying time between each plank.

little progress....not much.i ran out of 1/4 in wide planks,so ill have to strip some more inorder to continue.
but i did remove it from the stretcher, about 30 more planks and the hull structure will be ready for prep work.
shes shaping up nicely.

wow this looks great. I am in process of building a deep sea tug starting from similar plans and wood. I dont have the patience to do the planks for the hull though, mine will be done in sheets
