Default rc house boat slow build

for years ive wanted a rc house boat,i think its time I give it a go.
ill try to fully furnish the interior,beds,kitchen,bath...ect.

some of you guys will hate me for this....but im using a vintage lindberg chris craft sport fisherman hull.
I have the lindberg kit....but most of the parts for the kit are brittle and falling apart.
but the hull is solid.

hull is around 30x9...just the size im wanting.

heres a quick drawing of what im wanting to build.the layout may change, bathroom may be moved into the kitchen area,to allow room for living area in the wheel house.
house boats like this usually run twin mercruiser units....I don't have that option....so standard shaft and prop drive will be used.id love to get my hands on the small graupner stern drives though.

cool project. I love building boats.

A quick thought on the hull. You could coat it with mold release & use it like a plug... lay fiberglass & have a mold. A lot of extra work but you would end up with a glass hull & a mold that you make more.

I've got an idea for your merc outdrives... I'll PM you.

at your local dollar store look for an inflatable boat with a outboard on it they are under 3.00 dollars two or three of these motors would work ok
but they would not be fast , if you want fast then the electric outboards from kyosho tunnel hulls would work but cost lots of cash

If I want speed...I have 2 ep1's with upgraded hardened gear sets.
Ill just leave it as is for now, figure something out later for scale stern drives.
I might install 1 ep1 outboard, instead of the shaft through the bottom it has now.

o you have the prop and shaft so all you need is motor or motors and rudder
this will be very nice when you get done
I can post links to pages for boat building if you need them , they are mostly for towboats through

I need it for another project.

How big do you need the outboard to be?I know of a cheap rc toy for $15 that might work with a little time and styrene.

I ordered one just to use to tow bobbers out to set up a course for my 7009.I haven't received it from Bangood yett, but I should be able to measure or provide better photos.I know its just a cheap toy, but I'm new to rc so I just wanted to post it in case you see any parts that could be useful building a better outboard.
