The black rims do look the part. Yellow, chrome or white (being typically what you get from Tamiya on trucks) just would not work as well. Just watch your body posts - I have seen a few with broken ones, so it might be a warning.

Have you heard of the "5th shock" modification?. People put a shock running from the front of the gearbox, to control the hopping under gas. I would try it myself, but I'm going to 4 link my Pumpkin.

I want a Hobby shop that gives that kind of service

The Pumpbox series was the peak of "Fun r/c's to just enjoy driving". I had a Pumkin way back when 1700SCE's were a rumour. Now I have another, and I have to admit the only gripe I had with these cars has been fixed - The inclusion of double balljointed tie rods.
You buy a buggy these days, and run it for fun... It's possible, but it's still designed for one thing - cutting laps on a prepared surface. The Lunchbox is just a slap in a pack, and you get instant giggles anywhere you use it.

Now tell me that's not the very definition of "Better than Sex"! "...just slap in a pack, and you get instant giggles anywhere you use it." Point made! Chris

Thanks guys for the great feedback. I have seen that shock mod on the tamiya site. My rims are actually painted the same metalic charcoal as the stripe and clearcoated.

Your Pumpbox is straight pimpin' Holmes. I really do miss my old Pumpbox but it was nowhere cool as yours.
