You brought up the hooligans... i had to go there.

If you like emergency equipment, and humor that's 'inapropriate nowdays' check out the movie "Mother Jugs & Speed." 1970s movie about rival ambulance companies and times changing.

If nothing else the cars are cool.

I didn't realize how many AMC Matador cop cars they used, and a couple of Dodge Tradesman ambulances should be pretty close to a Tam Lunchbox body...

Let's bump up the loadout...

Gurney got chromed out with a Molotow liquid chrome pen, it's wizardry.
Also added a playmobile suitcase until i can sculpt a softbag

That chrome really does look spot on. I'm playing around trying to build a ramp truck and making some toy Alcoa wheels fit the wpl axles, that pen would be a good way to get rid of the lime green plastic.

There was an incident at the RC show. Luckily there were a few pieces of equipment in the area.

Also i managed to pick up some 3mm led size light bezels with lenses in raw aluminum from True Scale RC. My rear turnsignals and reverse lights are going to look so MUCH better! Hopefully the 5mm sized come back in stock soon.

I need to do a little creative wiring to tap front marker lights off the headlight channel of the body light control. Still waiting on the surface mount leds from china, it's getting clearance lights.

Looks like you were having fun with all the gang out and about... What was the incident? Did they arrest the corvette driver for his mullet or did his hair gel catch on fire?

Did i mention i was tired of posting pics after the big photodump from the meet?

Huge thanks to Glmfaa1 over on ScaleFirehouse!
His lenses arrived in great shape. Looks like they'll fit awesome. I'll have to get the light boxes baffled so i can run some more leds up there. Stock unused are blue, his are clear, also had 2 ambers in there.

He also sent a tip about CK Train Accent and Accessory, i'll need to look into them for sirens also.

Right after the rc meet I installed these bezels with lenses over my turnsignal & reverse 3mm LEDs, and still gotta order a few more LED bezels off truescalerc for my 5mm. Also the bumper lights were already aluminum speedtaped, and got Tamiya x27 clear red, they will not get lighted.

What's important for a RADIO CONTROLLED ambulance? No, not a static model one...

Playmobile suitcase, scratchbuilt Stethoscope & EMT bag.

This week i've been getting to hang out at a 'destination resort' in a room with a window overlooking the emergency deptartment ambulance bays, I've learned that i still don't have quite enough flashy lights on the rig.
Below beltline side rear needs a red, working with turnsignals,
Below beltline side front needs a yellow, that'll be a solid marker.
Above beltline side i may toss on another pair that work off the box corner flashers.

More flashy flashy indeed.

Like the blue lights on CSI, this post is all flash and no meaning.

That's a flashy bit of kit those boys have now... just gotta learn what to do with it in case of emergency.

This post has been brought to you by the word "flashy" and the number "lots"

Thanks, I might have been searching for that rig for a pretty long time. Now that i finally tracked down the hightop, it brings the Livery question up again.

I always really liked the white/orange/blue combo on the hi-top ambulances, because my dad was with a private company that ran those. But since it's not an Econoline hitop with side double doors, it wouldn't be a clone of theirs anyway.
Does the modular need to go Red with white or gold and become fire service, plan for both orange, stick with the original style paint schemes on each...

Hmm, so something like these combos?

I do like the red fire style of the last one, I know I've seen a version with black on it as well that I thought looked really smart.

I remember the high top vans with orange from TV shows back in the day. The red original does look good but a tribute scheme would also look great.

I like this livery. Also gives you a good excuse to rewatch the Cannonball run.

Red/gold/black looks nice, but I'm guessing that wasn't used in the eighties.
