I was pretty much bummed out over the last couple of weeks with the brakes...
The ESC / motor brake ain't cutting it... ... Some more in depth research would have shown that this is why there aren't any rwd cars with this configuration on the market... Well that'll learn me! you would think...ha!

Well not sure if anyone has gone this route before, I certainly couldn't find anyone doing or previously done this or something like this...

Still need to figure a way to mount the caliper to the hub..shouldn't be too difficult...

Ohh.. it's mechanically operated via a brake cable ( not unlike a bicycle brake cable) tied to a micro servo...

I was going to make some for my escort that look like it has brakes, but didn't think I could get any that worked!

Hey 8Ball, not sure if these will work on your escort. Maybe a little small, however I remember seeing some for the larger scale cars that should be perfect for it! However it was a bit pricey!
The rotors that I'm using are meant for show only, but I'm gonna use them here as I think they will work! These are Tamiya 1/10 brake disc hubs and are machined aluminum. The calipers are from the Venom motorcycle and although its 1/8 it fits pretty good!

Hey thanks Stray Cat !
I really hope the brakes work! Ha! I'm gonna have to get a stick type radio for it so I could have the brake servo on its own channel.
And I thought this was gonna be a budget build ....

This thing is looking amazing so far please get get a video of it when it's done also for the brakes You could also use a traxxas tq3 or any other 3 ch. pistol grip radio too or you could probably hook it up with a y-harness to the esc.

Hey there kungpow, will definitely have some kind of video when it's done!
Will also look into the tq3 as well. Is the 3rd channel progressive or is it basically on /off? Never used one of those before.....
