Last night I robbed my Globeliner of its Futaba 4YF radio system and installed it in the Escort...
Did a quick test run but didn't shoot any video... Wow! Talk about night and day difference! The brakes worked out pretty good! I will try to do a vid tonight, but it will be indoors. Not much chance of any out door shots/vids for a few days cause of Nemo! But boyoboy, I see some awesome burnouts in the near future!

Finally got some time to get back to this project! Been bogged down with other stuff in addition to having to relocate my workbench and rc stuff... What a bummer that was! Before, I knew exactly where everything was, now i gotta go hunting for stuff!
Anywho... Got some work done on the steering wheel assembly...want to try to install the rear dampers tonight and get started on the pedals and gear lever etc....

Finally got some more done...! Made magnetic mounts for attaching the body to the chassis...magnets encased in styrene attached to the body as well as corresponding magnets mounted to the chassis...
Also got the wiring sorted out, plumbed through the rocker panels to the trunk....did a test drive in the living room, brakes worked out pretty good..will test outside tomorrow in the day light and get some vids. Then it's strip everything out and prep for painting!

Hope this works! Heh! Still trying to get used to the stick radio with front brakes on the right stick together with the steering!.

Extreme details!
And its amazing how well those disk brakes work! Brilliant!

The ESC seems a tad 'nervous' though...

Hey thanks ST1100!
The ESC is the Tamiya TEU(?) , a lot of the nervous-ness was me trying to get used to the stick radio with the front brakes mapped to the steering Stick! I usually use a pistol grip type radio!

Interesting as I find the stick radio (Futaba F-14 @ F-350 HL) more suitable for steady/sensitive ESC control, then the stick radio (Graupner C4 Race @ M1025 Humvee).
Some kind of mixing function would be nice (like the drag brake on the TEU-302BK ESC):
when moving lever from forward directly into reverse: brakes on

Unless you plan on doing burnouts and doughnuts, then your brake need to be independent from the ESC control

Yep! I agree ! It's gonna need some fine tuning! The vid was just testing that it works ok before I strip it back down to paint.
