Got the fender flares on, door handles are on and painted the trim around the windows.

The flare kit didn't come with the front valance that spans between the front flares under the truck, so I made that out of a strip of lexan. Should keep it from getting damaged even if it gets hung up on something.

I have some 6mm and 7mm hexes on the way. 8mms are too wide and don't leave any threads on the axle shaft. So I'm hoping 6mm or 7mm will work better. I think I also need to put the springs back in the rear shocks instead of letting the leafs do all the work. It's squatting in the back a bit more than I want it to.

And she's done. Well, as 'done' as these projects ever get.

She has the full suit of LEDs too. Headlights, running lights, front and rear blinkers, tail lights, brake lights and reverse lights. Only problem is the ESC I'm using doesn't have a dedicated brake. Brake is applied as soon as you let off throttle. 'Crawler ESC', they call it. Ah well.

Also waiting on the driver figure still but I can wait. I know my buddy's doing an awesome job on it.

Lastly, I had used some really nice vinyl decals. That turned out to be kind of crap and flaked off after 24 hours. So I'm going to get ahold of Callie and see about a set of decals for it.

Otherwise, I think that's about it.

On the 'trail' for the first time. I plan to keep this on pretty mild stuff.

It handled it really well. Until a wheel fell off. With the 8mm hexes I have almost no threads left on the axle shaft, so I had to go back to the stock hexes. I have some 7mm hexes coming but everything on Amazon's running so slow right now...

But hey. I got to get her dirty for the first time.

New shoes.

New shoes.

KillerBody 3.35" tires on 1.9s.

They're designed for the Boom Racing 1.68" wheels.

1.02" X 3.35"

Liking these so far! They're not as soft as the Patagonias but they're significantly stiffer and don't just straight-up deform under the weight of the truck.

Looks good. I don't see much difference between the two different tires, but the stance is perfect.

Out on the 'trail' today.

Disclaimer: 'Trail' in this case is the dirt road behind the pit area of our flying field. It's good ole' lake bed clay that, when it gets wet, does all kinds of fun things, and people tend to go through it on dirtbikes or 4x4s and make a wonderful mess of it, so when it dries it makes for some really neat formations.

I only dragged the bumpers half a dozen times. Honest.

I'm over the moon with this thing. I couldn't be happier.

What's that behind the front wheels?

Something nobody will ever notice but I know they're there so that makes it feel just a little bit more complete.

It's the little things that make this fun, right?

Looks fantastic outside, in the dirt. Brake rotor is hard to see but it's there. Maybe a larger diameter drift rotor would be more visible, but it's a cool add anyway. What did you use for the antenna? It looks perfect. Now all you need is a driver and a license plate, and it'll be done.

The radio antenna came from Asiatees.. I thought it'd probably snap the first time the truck went on it's lid but actually it's really flexible. So maybe not.

I have a driver figure being painted up by a buddy who paints tabletop miniatures and plastic models. Tamiya Bruiser driver. Fits in the lexan molded seats like he was made for them.

As for a license plate I'm still trying to think of something witty.

I was thinking about "XJ WE ALL" but nobody would get that except Battlestar Galactica fans.

"RAMPAGE1" would work.

Thanks for the antenna link.

Nice, you even kept it Disk/drums. Although I'm more impressed with the rims having valve stems. I may need to order that antenna.

That's a sharp little rig!

Maybe change front leds to Warm White, and some translucent yellow turnsignal lenses

Yeah nobody does drums. I looked high and low and couldn't find anything even in the 3D print scene. I love those disks though. I like how they're small and not huge giant Brembos like you'd see on a drift car or something. These things didn't have big disks. Just little 11" disks got the job done.
