Hey Preston! Excited to see you back at it!! Roof looks smoooth in that few couple last pics. I know what it is to have a piece you know you want to re-do, can't get over it in the end and sometimes you just take the time to do it and it is even better afterwards.

And thanks Ron for giving him just the right kick he needed to resume his awesome work!

So another

Got the mold done...and guess what ? ..... no bubbles that I can see...

Really anxious to pour the resin for the buck now...but it’s raining so gotta wait till the humidity goes down...the liquid resin absorbs moisture from the air and it gets a kinda bubbly frothy look... should be able to do it tomorrow...I got a humidity meter in the room and it says 50%, but I will wait till it drops below 45%

Anywho.... here’s some pics... made the mold this color just to mess with Mr Beers...lol... you can see the part of the roof that’s being replicated...

Joking aside.
How did you poor mold with out getting bubbles ?
Did you poor it down a stick or something.
That's pretty incredible to say the least.
I still am sitting on about 1000.00 of the stuff and I'm faint of heart to just dive in.
Waiting for that special build you could say.

Actually, it does have bubbles...but not on the side where it molded to the roof...because I had the car right side up this time, the bubbles rose to the top of the silicone mix...away from the surface.
The last time I did it, i had the car inverted with the roof surface being at the top of the mix so the bubbles rose up to the surface...

Nice to see some new activity on this. Are you replacing the top or just going to make some extras? Love seeing this little 4x4 again.

No bubbles is good, unless we talkin ‘bout something to drink eh! Lol there is one thing that I (being a noob at molding stuff) would be worried about, I guess you have it all figured out but thought I’d ask. The mold looks very thin at the highest roof point since we can see your table lines through it. Given the other side of the mold looks like it is not completely flat, how can you do the negative of the soft mold without having it distorted when sitting upside down? Are you going to back it with a stiffer material while it sits on the roof, and then only after that you pour in the other molding stuff to make the other piece of mold? Hopefully my rambling makes some sense lol!
