I must have built a couple hundred models when I was younger, but almost completely gave it up when I got into RC, and later real cars. But in recent years, I've started collecting old model kits from the '80s. Most of them are going to sit in the box for a good long time before I build them, but here and there I'm starting to build again. It's good practice, and I think I'm getting better now that I'm older and more patient.
Here's the first one I've actually finished, a Revell '79 Camaro.
And now I'm working on a '37 Ford hot rod in sort of a Boyd Coddington style...
It came with a trailer, too:
Still lots and lots of detail paint work to be done, but I'm pleased so far. I'm way out of practice, but not HOPELESSLY out of practice.
For anyone interested, I have a blog about model car kits as well, though it's more focused on the collecting side: paintandcementnotincluded.wordpress.com
