It would not be rewarded scale points for flatbed it was voted metal/wood only would be rewarded.
Just to check: The PDF shows a wood/metal flatbed as -3, and a plastic as -1?

I hear you there, again, I'm just asking as a hypothetical, this thing will probably never see another scaler unless I build it a partner.

Thanks

If that's how it works, I will gladly take the -2 points. My design is a bit extreme, but my first one had the tire in the stock location, but with the same mount location. It would be the same handicapping if it was attached to the bumper. Anyway, nit a huge deal just one point.

With that said Why would you really want 1 point when you could have 2?? a rear tube structure could be a spare tire holder the glossary does not say it cant be. rear tube structure is pretty open
Rear Tube Structure ‐ This is tube work that doesn't fit into the other definitions, may include shock
mounts, body mounts, suspension mounts, or may be a structural part of the chassis.

3.1 Tube accessories
‐ Sliders: (both sides) metal ‐3, plastic ‐1
‐ Tube fenders: ‐1 per pair
‐ Front cage: ‐3
‐ Rear tube structure: metal ‐2, plastic ‐1
‐ Integrated tube shock mounts: ‐1 (per pair)

You are right the new rules are great . No changes to rule out a group of people . Everyone know before hand what they can run and can't . It has been great to work with the other 19 "reasonably intelligent" individuals on the new rules .

Due to confusion on a massive scale, the rules have been pulled for revision.

We will issue a "temporary" rule set (I've seen it and it looks good) soon. Nothing major has changed, but it's a lot easier to understand, and won't make you build a new rig.

Stay tuned!

For the most part yes. There will be some revisions but it should not really be noticeable. I would expect the 2012 rules will be ready very close to the first of the year if not before..
